viva las vegas......
it's that time of year..the leos birthdays!!! This year we thought we'd change it up a bit and just go away and relax in SIN CITY!!! hahahha... How could we relax? Well we started our trip off at 5:00am in SSF to catch a plane First Class to the city that never sleeps... I know...I know..why First Class to Vegas..cause it's probably the only First Class ticket we'll ever be able to afford. hahahha..
We arrive Friday Morning at 8:15am, catch a cab to Wynn!!! Check our bags at the Bell Desk, get on the guest list for Tryst at the Conceirge, pre-register at the Registration Desk, grab brunch and by 10am, I hit up the Spa while Awsome hits the weights! NICE FACILITY! The biggest spa i've ever been to w/ 45 treatment rooms and a co-ed lounge. They had this contraption called Deluge Shower which pours down a rush of water down the back of your neck and shoulders as you sit on a bench w/ jets massaging your feet. Pretty interesting..Awsome loved it while I preferred the jacuzzi, cold plunge and sauna. After 2 1/2 hours of being in the spa, including my stone massage, Awsome and I headed for the pool! We found 2 chairs w/ shade and sun, listened to Ultra Lounge music provided by a DJ and sippin on Washington Apples and Voldka Tonics for the next 2 hours!
Finally it's check-in time and we get our keys, head up to our room, and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! Loved it!!! King size bed, w/ huge pillows, a view of the strip, huge ass bathroom w/ an LCD, which we actually used while getting ready... After settling in, going downstairs to stroll to the shops and get some ice cream and chicken noodle soup, it was time to get ready for our feast at Lawry's! I'd have to say it was probably better than House of Prime Rib. And the story goes is that the manager of Lawry's in Beverly Hills left and opened up House of Prime Rib...and then an employee left that establishment and opened up Broadway Prime??? Who knows??? All I know was that their August Special ( we each got) a spinner salad, 8oz prime rib w/ a lobster tail, bottle of wine,a sundae and coffee or tea for the both of us was $99!!!! And they gave us a strawberry shortcake for our birthdays!!!! Great service by the way! Only downfall was that we had to wait awhile to get a taxi to get back to the strip.
Headed back to Wynn to party it up at Tryst. And I have to admit, it totally payed off getting on the hotel guest list, because as soon as got in line, we were escorted out of line, down the stairs, gave our VIP passes and was in the club in less than 2 minutes while there was a hella long ass line of folks that was not moving!!!!! Tryst reminded us of Mansion in Miami, the folks, the music, but the ambiance was different, because here they had a huge outdoor patio w/ bottle service and waterfall views. Very nice club! We stayed for 2 hours and headed out to the Venetian. We were advised of Tao, but when we got there the line was not moving and it looked like a lot more younger folks at that club.... more in there 20's. Tryst had a huge age range which was great! So we hit up V-Bar for one more drink and called it a night.
Next day, we headed out to the Venetian to eat at Bouchon for brunch which was FABULOUS! If you ever go, get the French Toast. To die for!!! We checked out Tao Beach and the Venetian Pool..which was nothing compared to the Wynn. It looked like rows of sardines surrounding the rectangular pool and Tao Beach was really tiny & crowded. I didn't find any sand and you had to pay for your food and drinks. Nikki Beach in Miami was actually on the Beach w/ sand and there's a buffet which was free, although drinks were on your own. Checked out Planet Hollywood which was really empty and still in the process of remodeling. Alot of empty space not being utilized. What's kind of funny is that the songs they had playing in the casino I think were from movies???
Decided to bounce and head for Fashion Show Mall which has been remodeled and extended...it's HUGE! I swear I saw Jessica Simpson, but Awsome thinks she's just a lookalike... Finally got some rest at the hotel before we left for Penn & Teller at the Rio. Ate at Luckystrike Lanes at the Rio for some appetizers..really good. Saw the show which was pretty cool. I love magic, but I have to admit...Penn talks ALOT..so at one point I started to get sleepy. We ended our night at Parsol Up in the Wynn, met a great waitress Robin and a lady from Baton Rouge who was keepin it real!
Our last morning was spent at Terrace Point Cafe at the Wynn hovering next to the pool. Grubbed on the best lobster eggs benedict we've ever had, soaked in the pool for an hour and checked out. We're having post vacation depression....we were just at the pool yesterday, soakin up the sun.....RELAXIN.....back to reality.... |
