Ok so finally the continuation of my brother's extravagnza b-day weekend. So we started our morning at 9am in a Lincoln Navigator which was huge!!!! I would totally recommend renting this vehicle...SPACIOUS.... There was only 6 of us and it was totally comfy!!! We had brunch at Cafe 29, which is located between American Canyon and Fairfield I think, and of course off the 29. You can easily pass up this diner if you're not looking for it. Very cool place. Very small town and homy feeling... Big portions! And you've got characters for servers as well. We had the chicken fried steak, pork fried steak ( since they ran out of chicken and tasted just as good) and their waffles were really good!

Our next destination was The Hess Collection. I will tell you this...to get to this place, there's a bunch of turns, so if you get car sick, just a little warning. But once you get here...it's pretty cool. They have an art exhibit which Awsome and I totally liked and then even better was the wine tasting! We actually signed up for their wine club, which isn't too bad. We finally opened up some bottles a couple of weekends ago and The Artezin Wine that we had was great!

So after The Hess Collection we kept driving on the 29 and finally hit up Yountville and stopped by Bouchon Bakery which I have mentioned in a previous blog that is a MUST STOP!!!! After we got our goodies we headed on to V. Sattui Winery and grubbed down on our goodies and bought some pretzel's and dip which were very YUMS!!!

On with our travels to St. Helena! We finally made it up here. I've never been able to drive this far and it's a really cute small strip of a town. We walked a little bit and made a friend w/the owner of a gallery, who Awsome may just keep in touch with. Who knows...... But this was not our final destination... It was actually to go to River Rock Casino..... OMG, sorry to say but I would never go here again. It's really really small. Probably the size of Lucky Chances and they're little restaurant takes forever. There were 6 of us and they would not seat us a table for 8 to maximize space!!!! Can you believe that!!! So after gambling for about an hour or so we decided to finally grab some dinner elsewhere and ended up in Healdsburg of all places. And this town shuts down early! The only place we found to eat was a place called Barndiva. Initially, we thought this place looked kinda cool... a restaurant that should be somewhere in NY or even LA or Las Vegas. This place was very modern and SNOOTY! I would not recommend this place, unless you were just goin for drinks. We did not get very good service cause we're BROWN ( j/k...but that was our excuse) and they weren't busy either. It was pretty empty. But I have to say the decor and ambiance was pretty cool for a warm summer night.

So what were the highlights: Lincoln Navigator, Cafe 29, The Hess Collection, Bouchon Bakery, V. Sattui and St. Helena.

Downers: River Rock Casino and Barndiva
