I'm finally goin to write about THE PROPOSAL or at least leading up to it! Hee hee hee..I know...he proposed back in Dec and now it's practically March! I'm trying to catch up w/ all my adventures here. So as you all know, Voodoo's wedding was Dec. 4th and the night before all the ladies were talkin and were askin me, "how come you guys are going to New Orleans?" And I replied, "oh just to get away...it's our first trip by ourselves." On our past trips, we've always had relatives or friends along w/ us. So this was going to be pretty cool, nerve rackin and exciting all at the same time....for me that is!!! Any how, the ladies said "HE'S GOING TO PROPOSE!" And I replied, " no no...not till the end of next year probably..we had just talked about the idea of getting married and he had to take care of some 'business' before he can think of that.

So fast forward to our trip to New Orleans:

We fly in at around 2 pm NOLA (New Orleans, LA) time and we step out of the airport and it's FREEZING! WHAT THE HELL! It's colder than S.F. How weird. I swear it had to be about 40 degrees! So his cousin picks us up at the airport and we drive to her home first and chill out. I just wanted to get to the hotel and shower and freshen up. We finally get to our room and it's TO DIE FOR! 5 STAR HOTEL!!!! His cousin really hooked us up. Our room was bigger than an Embassy Suites room w/ marble flooring in the bathrooms w/ down pillows and comforters on our bed!!!!

My stars..the name of the hotel is The Intercontinental Hotel. I would definitely stay there again!!!! So we're finally starving and we eat at NOLA's which is one of Emiril's new restaurants and YES a must see! I wish I remembered what Michael and I had but we had shared one of their pre-set meals and it was good for the two of us. They had such excellent service! It was great! And of course we hit up Cafe Du Monde for them BEIGNETS!!!! I think we had 3 each!!!! And let me tell you we had them French donuts every day we were there except for once!!!!! And even bought a mix!!!!

Ok so down to the nitty gritty. It was our 2nd day there and this day we end up walkin around the Warehouse District, which is pretty much an area of independant art galleries and The Contemporary Art Center. Thank god I had tennis shoes on! My feet were hurting! So we decided to finally take their "street car" to Loyola and Tulane University. We're walkin around for days there too and I pretty much wanted to go home (the hotel).

The Proposal: So it's about 4:30pm Dec. 16th and Michael suggested for us to go to Audubon Park which is across from Loyola University. I on the other had just wanted to get on the street car. But he said people have said it's really nice and to look around. So I agree w/o making a fuss. We get to the pond/lake and it's beautiful! The sun's setting and you can see it through the trees and I decided to take pictures. I look behind me and Michael's back is facing me. "hmmmmm, what's he doing? why is his back turned toward me? Is going to propose???? NO...CAN'T BE!!!" There's a bench we finally found and he takes my camera and switches it to video mode. He suggested we take a video of our trip so far. At this point...i'm getting kinda nervous but tried nudging it off until he asks me "Do you want to be w/ me forever?" I replied, a little irritated and hurt, " Yes, I told you that already!" And he said, " well Sweety, this is what I want to do?" And he fiddles in his pocket and gets on one knee, and OOOOOOOH MAN... HE'S PROPOSING!!!!!!! Of course I said YES! So after that..let's just say I was on cloud 9 for the rest of the trip! Hopefully I'll be able to post pix as soon as Voodoo gets back online and I can ask her how to do this! hee hee hee
