I have to admit, I had a wonderful weekend! You must think i'm nutts for saying this, especially since it was the busiest weekend ever because it's right before x-mas. What did I do? Well Friday evening I was meeting Awsome in Oakland so we can watch Something's Gotta Give over at Emerybay. So as I drive down 280 North and exit 6th Street, I decide well let's try coming up from Harrison on the Embarcadero side. Well that idea was shot after seeing the line of cars not moving. So as I try to find my way to another freeway entrance, I find myself on Mission Street inching maybe 5 inches every minute. I start to get a little frustrated, gripping the wheel a little tighter, running my hands thru my hair, fearing we're goin to miss the early show cause i'm stuck in the city. I turn on my sterero and start playing my x-mas CD's and a calmness comes over me. As I sit, creeping up 1st Street, I find myself singing x-mas carols, such as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reighndeer and my mood lightens. What can you do right? No use in getting all upset. I have to get over the bridge and you just deal w/ the situation.

I finally get to Oakland and pick up Awsome and hit the road to Emerybay only to get stopped on the onramp because of a car accident. I have to admit a little frustration crept in but disappeared just as fast as Awsome and I talk about our day. We finally get to the theatre, get our munchies, and by the way, jalapenos in your hot dog is HELLA GOOD!! Well that's if you can eat hot stuff. We get to the theatre and sit dead center. Things are starting to look up for us. I LOVE IT! And the movie???? A MUST SEE!!! As Awsome says, Jack and Diane become your friends and you really get to know them. This movie will get you crackin up like crazy!! Oh and it's not chick flick, I think it's for everyone. This season's been filled with really good movies or we just happen to be really lucky. First Finding Nemo, then Love Actually, and now Something's Gotta Give. I will have to get these definitely to add to my DVD Collection.

So Saturday comes along and Awsome and I start our day at 10:30am which is a definite treat for us. We head out to JC Penny's to find a gift for Awsome's dad only to find HELLA PEOPLE!!! What the hell is goin on? They're having a Sale Blaster from 7am-12pm. No wonder!!!! We find a tool set that 50 bucks that's half off and then I have a 10 dollar off coupon... What a deal!!!! I wanted to buy one for myself!!!yeah yeah..I know...i'm not very handy in the first place. But I just wanna have for the sake of havin one.

So our next stop is Scandinavian Designs and do I luck out finding parking or what. Why am I here? Well we're remodeling our house and i've gotten rid of my kid furniture that i've had for the past 25 years and it's time to grow up. Plus i'm moving into the master bedroom so i've got a lot of room to play with. I had to show Awsome one of my choices, which I have made a decision on and you'll see it once my room is complete.

The final destination- DOWNTOWN! YES...are we nutts...no. The whole season we haven't hit downtown to see all the decorations and hustle and bustle and we finally decided today was the day for it- rain or shine. We park at the 5th and Mission garage ( yes i know i'll talk about that in a bit) and we walk over to SF Center to find the escalators packed w/ people, practically on every step. WOW! What a site! We make our way over to Union Square and perfect timing, it's dark and we'll see the x-mas lights and decorations. BEAUTIFUL! It's funny how all the people didn't seem to bother us, kinda weird huh? I think it's because we didn't have to buy anything today, we were just enjoying the holiday scene and being w/ each other. yes sappy isn't it?? i know i know...

As I was saying earlier, we parked at the 5th and Mission Garage and we finally head back towards Market to go to Old Navy, only to see it dark??? What? What's goin on? There's a notice on their doors that they've loss power. So we head towards Metreon, and it's dark too!!!! Oh crap..the garage is PITCH BLACK!!! And guess where we parked??? THE BASEMENT!!!! OH HELL.... Although Awsome has a little red light on his little card tool kit, it's only enought to light up 5 inches in front of you... BUAHAHHAAH Why the hell do we attempt to walk downstairs only to walk back upstairs. There's no way we could have walked back to our car... HELLA SCARY... So many thoughts were runnin thru my head: "uuuuh what if we get mugged? what if i get raped?? " Oh crap, we need an escort.. We got an escort but the dude walked off in a hurry before we could tip him?? Should we have tipped him??? oh well...

Last stop, James Herman Plaza! Unfortunately, we didn't get to ice skate since it was off/on rain but we got a kick out of this one guy who was sooooooooooo determined to learn how to skate. Oh man, we was soaked like crazy and he'd fall practially every 30 sec. I felt so bad for him and his pain but I give him mad props for trying! Well hopefully we'll be able to ice skate when this rain dies down...

Well it's time for me to beat up a patients, so have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Weekender is back from So Cal AGAIN! My girl Scrappy and I had gone down to Cerritos/Pomona area to visit our two girlfriends. We flew into Ontario and find out there is NOTHING out there. I have to admit it's a very clean re-modeled airport, the size of Oakland Airport but as we stepped out side...COW CRAP! Oh god..I swore I was in Cow-alinga!!! We head for the rental cars and pick up our 4x4 Ford Escape! WOO HOO!!! I have to admit, this is a nice ride and accelerates a little faster than the CR-V. We're buying time to meet up w/ Anime` in Cerritos so we end up driving to Ontario Mills Shopping Center. The first thing I notice is that everything is soooooooooooo spread out. We decide to drive thru the parking lots to window shop...and finally find Hooters to grub at. YES I said HOOTERS!! Ok you know how our Hooters in the City have flatsy girls and not the typical Hooter Girls...well over there...they were your skinny ass blonde/brunette girls w/ big ol' boobage. I swear these girls backs hurt at the end of the day cause of the weight they're carryin on their chest. Well that was an experience though, of course mainly all men in the restaurant on their lunch break. How was the food???? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaight.... yup..the cobb salad was good but they're supposedly known for the hot wings...NOT!!! Not even hot...

So let's get to the highlight of the trip. Friday evening Anime', Scrappy, Flying Hands and I drove down to Irvine Spectrum. I guess 10 years ago this was just your average mall but in the past couple of years it has totally expanded that when you park your car, you can take a tram to the edge of the outdoor mall. It has a freakin ferris wheel for god's sakes and a big ol FOREVER 21, yes the women can relate to me here. For dinner/drinks we walk over to The Yard House. If you've ever hit one of these, they have the largest selection in the world of beers you can ever think of (supposedly) and you have the option of ordering a "yard" of beer. Literally, they'll serve your beer in a container that's a yard long, along w/ a wooden stand so it can be supported upright on the floor or on your table.. funky huh??? So you know how the Weekender does when she's out w/ her girls... After a skye collins, peach martini, white zin, 3 1/2 pineapple kamikazes... can you guess what happened??? hahahahha At least I was able to hold it all in from Irvine to Cerritos, which is about 20-30 minute drive.. WOO HOO..what a trooper!!! I haven't drank like that in HELLA LONG!!! I'd have to say practically a year ago...

So the next day you think hangover right??? NOT!!! What a trip huh? Unfortunately the rest of the girls were and we were goin to Disneyland!!!!! It's a good thing I paid a visit to the Toilet Buddah!!! So why Disneyland??? It is sooooooooooooo beautiful during the holidays. Anime` stated right before Thanksgiving do they deck out all the X-mas decorations. The decorate Main Street and the Holiday Parade is showered w/ snow, A Small World is all X-mas'd out and The Haunted Masion is transformed into the characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I'd have to say it's a must-see!!! Of course all the rides are the same but right now the closed Thunder Moutain Railroad due to it de-railing only 2 weeks after I was there back in August and someone died. And Space Mountain is closed due to renovation till 2004/5 I think??? So keep that in mind folks if you're plannin to go to Disneyland in the Winter..

All in all, we had a wonderful time seeing our girls down in So Cal just chillin and relaxin. No hurry to get anywhere, dashin here and there. Although yesterday we were mad dashing from the rental car to the Southwest Terminal, it was 3:50pm and my flight was 4:20pm. Thank god Ontario Airport is not crazy busy like our own over here.
