Lately, I've been really listenin to the words of a particular song that has totally caught my fancy. And if you know me, I usually don't pay attention to the lyrics, but to the beat of a song first.
It's like yesterday I didn't even know your name Now today, you're always on my mind, I never could have predicted that i'd feel this way
You are a beautiful surprise
Intoxicating every time I hear your voice You've got me on a natural high It's almost like I didn't even have a choice
You are a beautiful surprise
What ever it is you came to teach me I am here to learn it cause I believe that we are written in the stars And I don't know what the furture holds, And I am thankful for the man that you are You are every thing I asked for in my prayer So I know my angel brought you to my life Your energy is healing to my soul
You are a beautiful surprise
You are inspiration to my life You are the reason why I smile
You are a beautiful surprise

Sorry for the delay. I had written this awhile ago, but just haven't been able to post it. Last weekend was President's Day Weekend AND Valentine's Day Weekend!!!! And this year, I have a Valentine!!! And if you haven't caught on to me mentioning who he is on my blog, it's Awsome!! Don't worry i'm not going to give you ALL the details of this past weekend, but of course I have to mention the highlights. You know....to give you single fools and couples out there some ideas for your future dates.
We had stayed at the Chancellor Hotel in Union Square, which is somewhat like a bed and breakfast although they have a restaurant/bar downstairs for you to eat at. We checked in, checked out our room, which had a view of the new remodeled Union Square and of course CHEESECAKE FACTORY!!!! Oh by the way, for you superstitious peeps out there, this hotel has a 13th FLOOR!!! OMG! Thank god our room was on the 11th Floor!!! So we head downstairs for dinner and it was in this small dining area where I believe there were only 2 other couples there. A very quiet dinner, as if Awsome and I were the only ones in the room. I loved it!! We had a 3 course dinner and by the time our entree got there, I was pretty full. Oh..and I did not fill up on the bread!!!! buahahhaha
To burn all that food off that we had just ate, we walked around Union Square, checkin out the nearby galleries, which I do have to say has some interesting artwork. Since I was in heels and have this fear of gettin caught in the grills in the sidewalk, I was constantly keepin an eye where I was walkin. And low and behold, we have our own Sidewalk of the Stars here in San Francisco. Unforutnately, I can't exactly tell you where it is, but it is I believe on the same street as the A.C.T. Theatre. I think???
After walkin for awhile, and my bladder edgin me on to hit up the CR, I suggested we stroll into the Westin St. Francis. This is the hotel which has the Victoria Secret connected to it!!! Can you picture the hotel now??? hee hee hee So we enter thru the revolving doors and low and behold there's a bar/lounge up this staircase to our left. We finally find the bathrooms, but then we heard "My Funny Valentine" being sung.. And Awsome of course felt drawn to it...but my bladder was callin...:-\ So after hittin the CR, the song was still playin and we hurried over to the lounge and found a spot on the dance floor. This was sooooooooo cool.
We pretty much parlayed here for the rest of the night listening to Bob Palpe and the Rose Trio and dancing or should I say, trying to keep up w/ Awsome on the dance floor. So if you guys love cruner music, which is along the lines of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Harry Connick Jr. etc... , then these guys are at the hotel usually 5 days a week. I would totally recommend seein them, but a lil forwarnin, the crowd that's usually loungin around are a lil older. I would say around 40's and up... So if you don't mind, then it's all goodie!!! I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend whether it was w/ a significant other, family, or friends. Valentine's Day is a day of appreciation and love for those you care about!

Did I go on another journey this weekend or what!! Let's talk about Saturday night. It starts out w/ me tryin to evade traffic leavin the city to meet up w/ Awsome to eat at Le Cheval's w/ his friends. My dumbass takes 101 North instead of the 280 extenstion and of course I hit traffic. Tryin to be slick, I exit Old Bayshore and instead of goin straight to hit Cesar Chavez, I hang a left into the warehouses wear barely anyone is drivin around and it's dark. I make a turn into a dark road and I immediately bust a U. WHERE THE HELL AM I!!! I get back on the main street, and it comes to me... FRICKIN A...i'm in HUNTER'S POINT! BY MYSELF!!! OH HELL!!! All I wanted to do was hit 3rd and Bryant to catch the on ramp to the bridge. I was straight speedin thru the streets just to get outta here, noticin parked cars w/ peeps in them in the middle of no where!!! What are they doin??? SMOKIN CRACK!!! most likely...
We finally get to Le Cheval's and they've already done the fire crackers and the lion dancers are already performin..INSIDE THE RESTAURANT!!! It was such a great show. They even had a karate school do some sparring and even better, one of the instructors had put bamboo spears against his throat and frickin bent the sticks w/o injuring himself!!! (don't try this at home kids)
If you've ever been to this place, I would suggest to go w/ a bunch of friends and not just you and a friend. Why?? LOTS OF FOOD!! Kinda funny how guys order food or maybe it's just me??? I was in the company of Awsome, Mojo, and Mr. Combo. Usually when people order, it's pretty straight forward. But these guys, it was COMEDY!!! We had ordered salt n pepper shrimp I think, and the waiter had asked if we wanted shell or no shell?? And the guys had asked if it would still be crispy? And Mr. Combo had to take it to another level of it being original, crispy or EXTRA CRISPY!!! I swear... a 1 minute order lasted 5 minutes!! TOO HILARIOUS!
So we're done w/ dinner and we head back to the crib to find directions to this art gallery opening/party that's from 9pm -6am. Mr. Combo is searchin thru his evites and announces that it was from 9am-6pm!!!! NICE... Well icksnay on that plan. So we end up drivin into the city to Fuse, Awsome and I in one car and Mojo and Mr. Combo in another. They actually find parkin before we did. So we're drivin around and around and finally I squeeze into a very tight spot. We see Mr.Combo in front of Fuse. Where's Mojo??? At LUSTY LADIES!!! BUAHHAHAHA
We get a drink at Fuse and decide to bounce to another bar, but of course not until the guys introduce me to my FIRST XXX ARCADE!!! We go to Lusty Ladies, which is right next door to Hustler's (formerly known as Millenium formerly known as the Palladium) and this is how it works. You go into a closet-like room where you slip quarters or bills into a machine and a shade slides up and you see 3 exotic dancers. TOTALLY NEKKID w/ piercings in the keng keng and whatnot! OMG can you tell i'm totally in shock. Awsome and I go into one booth and he puts a dollar in. And why the hell does it last only about 10-15 seconds. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan...HELLA QUICK! So he puts in another dollar and same thing happens... This whole time..i'm just in AWE!!! So this is our last attempt and he puts in 5 bucks. Oooooooooooooooook.. that 5 bucks lasted forever!!! And during this time, Macy Gray is just jiggin too fast..not interested in lookin at her. So Raggedy Ann comes our way and she's a cutie and she starts talkin to us. I couldn't help but have a big ass smile on my face the WHOLE TIME that even Macy Gray complemented me on my smile. hee hee hee.. So after awhile, we're just over the whole thing until I notice an older man in the reflection and he's frickin JACKIN OFF!!!! OMG!!! I just did not need to see that. I think after that, I was just really stunned and in shock.Wouldn't you????
So this is what that Madonna Video was all about??? |

I hate feelin sick!!! I've been fightin a cold since Wed. My stupid ass sat in front of a draft Tuesday night and I woke up the next day w/ an itchy throat and feelin exhausted, and until now this itchy throat hasn't gone away. Now i''m havin a sudden cough that comes about every 10 minutes or so. I've been drinking cherry flavored theraful, which I think has helped at least not for me to have a full blown cold, but now I think maybe it would have been better for me to have the frickin cold just to get it over with. Friday night my sorority sisters had gone out to Manhattan Lounge, since one of our girl's was goin back to Hawaii to be w/ her finace. Although temptin, I did the responsible thing and stayed at home resting since Saturday was goin to be a full day of events.
So Saturday comes and Awsome has planned for Cosmonaut's birthday to be at the Hukilau. I had invited my girlfriends to roll on thru and of course the BRL crew, although it was so last minute. We get there and the whole patio area is empty..WOO HOO! This means we'll have the whole area to ourselves...and even better there was a live band playin their ukele and all. Now how awsome is that. Cosmonaut I think he's partly Hawiian or at least I know he has relatives out there. Unfortunately, I forgot that Hukilau stops serving food at 9:30pm or so, so it's only drinks!!! But if you ever get the chance to go, you've gotta try the ahi poke if you like raw tuna!!! YUM!!!
So Awsome and I get there waaaaaaaaaaay early...since we were right down the street in J-town..Oh yeah..you've gotta hit up Sophie's Crepes if you're in the vicinity. They serve gelato in a crepe w/ all sorts of fillings... ok..am I gettin my self hungry or what. Ok so back to the Hukilau, we go in and see Mango and Ms. Voodoo grubbin down. And we roll onto the back and meet up w/ some folks. At this time...everyone's gettin lost..Mind you...Hukilau is on the corner of Masonic and Geary. But there's a trick, there's a side street to hit up Masonic and if you don't get on that ramp, you go thru the underpass and totally pass Masonic...
We post in the patio and get the folks to light up the heating lamps to warm us folks up..Remember...we're in S.F. and it gets pretty chilly. Slowly but surely..more and more folks show up and finally the birthday boy shows up, in his ALOHA SHIRT! He wasn't kiddin when he said he was goin to dress for the occasion... Hey give it up to him...in the dead of winter...I would have shown up in my coconuts and grass skirt...NOT!!!
So Cosmonaut is turning 25!!! A QUARTER OF A CENTURY OLD!!! Now why in hell would you order a triple shot of whiskey!! EWWWW!!! This fool really wanted to get tore up. I don't know how many drinks he had but enough for him to blow at a candle hard enought for the wax to swirl up and splash onto his lips!! buhahahaha Surprisingly enough he didn't yack... 2 people had to "guide" him to the bathroom and I've never seen anyone move in slow motion like he did...I swear..I wish I had a video camera. Even when he turned his head to look and talk to you it was slow motion.. hahahaha A very memorable 25th Birthday Cosmonaut!!!
