I've just returned from SoCal.......can I say STICKY!!!! Anyways...I had gone down there w/ a couple of friends for 4th of July and a birthday.. Let me tell you.....I had a BLAST and it was another side to myself that I never knew I had..or should I say..peeps would never expect to SEE!!! Why do I say this??? Because of my eventful 4th of July!!!

We end up goin to West Hollywood, which I'm sure most of you know it to be where a lot of the mainstream bars/clubs are, such as the Viper Room and Myagis' just to name a few. But it is also known as our CASTRO DISTRICT. We end up goin to The Abbey, which is a gay bar. This place is usually scene on MTV's dating game show...for which I can't remember what the hell the name is... But here you'll see lil booths filled w/ pillows and closed off w/ sheer white curtains. This place is so PIMP!!!! But unless you swing the other way, you probably wouldn't want to go to this joint unless you were a gay male,a female or a male who's REALLY SECURE w/ himself and doesn't give a fuck. Why do I include females??? Cause GOD DAMN the MEN are FINE!!!! Can I just say BEAUTIFUL MEN.... This place is just filled w/ EYE CANDY!!! Oh and also they serve the BEST MARTINIS.... Our friends usually hit this spot, so I got a tall ass caramel martini for 9 bucks... VERY GOOD INDEED!!!

So after we down our martinis' we go next door to Here... WHOH NELLY!!! The bartenders are in RED, WHITE & BLUE BOXERS!!!!! What a way to spend the 4th of July!!!! I swear i'm in HEAVEN!!!! So what is Here all about??? Well this is, I believe, a Lesbian Bar but on Thursday nights you'll see more of a mix crowd, with straight men and women included... Unfortunately, I cannot tell or at least write what happened here, but it was in between PG-13 and rated R!! Let's just say you haven't partied SoCal style till you party w/ these gals!!!!

So what can I tell you??? The women and men are BEAUTIFUL!!!! They played hip-hop that night and it was OFF DA HOOK!!!! There's an outdoor patio where you can chill which is really nice and the best thing of all ....IT'S FREE to get into both venues.... So if you ever get the chance to check these places out....have an OPEN MIND....that's all I have to say.... and to VooDoo....now I KNOW what you mean!!!!

damn....it's been almost a WHOLE MONTH....where the hell has the Weekender been...out of town? out of the country?? I've been around...just not blogging...why is that? well i haven't really been partying lately... Ever since i've gotten back from Vegas...i've been going to our festivites around the bay area more, festivites during the day that is... Our great city of S.F. has just had some awesome street fairs. I've attended the Haight Street Fair, which of course was all about drinking!!! North Beach Festival, which is MORE DRINKING!!! I've never been so faded starting from 2pm till 11pm at night!!! That was such a trip... To go into a bar...and I mean...my friends and I were EXOTIC....meaning we would be the only colored people in a bar. WE LOVED IT... Well I should say I LOVED IT!!!! We'd go into a bar...get our drink on..and leave and there's still sunlight... Thank god there were some good eats at the North Beach Festival or in North Beach itself.

The latest event that I attended was the Gay Pride Parade. We didn't stay too long or go the the main event which was at Civic Center because we had another venue to hit... THE STERN GROVE FESTIVAL!!! Just this past Sunday we got to see some legends of the past who contributed to the culture of Hip-Hop, such as Newcleus, Electric Boogaloo, and Don Campell to name a few. If you ever go, be aware...no HIGH PLATFORM or slippery shoes due to the steep pavement of road you have to walk down to to reach the meadow, bring a blanket to sit on or a lawn chair, sunblock and a hat if you don't like baskin in the sun....

So what's up for this weekend??? OH GOD....too many to mention and i'll be out of town so I really didn't take much note... But I believe 111 Minna is goin on after work tomorrow and right after you can hit up the Starlight Room at Harry Denton's....Have a fun and safe 4th of July!!!
