Auditions and other stuff

I auditioned today for the spring semester's opera, Orhpeus and the Underworld (Jacques Offenbach) and despite my best intentions and being memorized on my monologue, it just didn't come out right. In fact, all of my singer friends, dreaded our monologues. We just don't get that much practice doing them, and it sucks because the monologue is at the end of the audition. So we sing first, and in many cases, really well, and then we have to do a monologue, which in most cases, ends our audition on a downer.

But for the theater majors, they can't wait to get through their singing and so they can do their monologue.

It would be nice in auditions, if the auditionee can determine what goes first. Then all parties will be happy.

We'll see audition results soon, with callbacks on Wednesday.
