Spring Brake!

As I'm writing this at 2:11 am on a wednesday morning, I feel nice and relaxed that I don't have to be up by 8:00 to make to school by 9 - though I often don't make it till 9:05 or so. But I so need this spring break, and it coudln't have come at a better time!

The semester is whizzing by, which means many things, but most importantly:
  • my $$ is dwindling
  • jury rep needs to be memorized and learned
  • I should be going crazy but trying my darndest not to
This is by far the most challenging semester I've ever had. In case I forgot to tell you...
I'm in 6 ensembles - University Chorus, Chamber Singers, Jazz Choir, Opera Workshop, Afro-Cuban ensemble, Mens' Chorus. Add to this West Side Story rehearsals Mon-Thu from 5:30-10:00 and there's pretty much my day. I do have some free hours on Tues-Thu. I'm also trying to write two papers (one is for an incomplete). But I'm not complaining because this is what I came back to school for!

I'm also trying to figure out my itinerary for this summer's trip to Europe. My plans are to fly into London, then go onto Istanbul for a week. From Istanbul, it's off for a tour of Germany (for the World Cup), then Rouen, France by June 28. From the 28th through the 8th of July it's a choir tour with the Chamber Singers. On July 9th, maestrob and I head to Marseille where we catch up with Likha and a 10-day tour of south of France.

In sum, my goals this semester:
  1. Finish a paper and change an imcomplete into a real grade
  2. Finish a paper for my vocal ped class
  3. Learn my jury rep (2 German, 2 Italian, 2 English, 1 French)
  4. Memorize Chamber Singers Rep
  5. Learn other ensemble rep
  6. Be on point for West Side Story
  7. NOT GO CRAZY!
Thank the maker for this break. Tomorrow it's off to the dentist, then a full day of paper writing.
