Man
The Niners are horrible aren't they?
I haven't experienced a season like this ever. At least Mooch's team won 4 games.
I think they might win one more.
And if they do go 2-14 then the circle will have been completed more than 25 years later.
Could this also mean that Tim Rattay is the next coming of Joe Montana?

Ahhh!
The day after a holiday is always nice. This year I took in two 'orphans' from school - one from Chicago and the other from Juneau (Alaska). They both didn't go home for this short little weekend so therefore they came to my parents' house in Alameda and partook in Turkey Day festivities with my rather calm and laid back pamilya.
Thursday morning I went and sang with my two friends at St. Stephen's Church on Eucalyptus in the City. The mass is more of a contemporary mass, so the music was much more of a bluesy/gospel feel, which fits right up my alley. They recruited me to sing little gospel-music like riffs/responses, which was fun for me.
Then we drove across the bay to spend the day with the parents in Alameda. We had lunch around 1230 and then crashed on the couch whilst watching the Bears v. Dallas game. Then woke up around 4 and kicked it till the family started coming over.
My Alaska friend told me she enjoyed it because there was no stress and drama, as is usual during the holidays where she's from. And my friend from Chicago enjoyed all the food that was available. We drove back around midnight, listening to Earth, Wind and Fire, which made the tollbooth traffic a little more tolerable.
Now I'm at work, a part of the 'biggest shopping day of the year' fiesta that goes on around shopping malls throughout this country.
Can't wait for this weekend - Saturday night is my 10 year high school reunion and Sunday I'll be heading up to Santa Cruz to visit my hypnotherapist friend - Haha she'll unlock my unconscious child!
Have a good weekend

If any of you were listening to Tony Sandoval and the KISS FM Sunday Night Oldies show you might have heard me giving props to Flip Nunez and George Maribus.
Tony Sandoval, the DJ, was plugging a new book, "Roots of Latin Rock" and he mentioned a group called 'Azteca' which was popular in the 70s. So I called in to mention that two of the musicians were Filipino, which was news to Tony. In fact, he was so impressed he offered to send me a copy of the book and also to give me 2 tickets to watch the group Malo perform in Redwood City.
That totally made my day. The only that sucked was hearing my own voice on the air. I don't have an 'on air' voice.
Oh well, I won free tix and a free book!
I'm cool.

So lagging...
Anyway, school is getting more intense. Opera scenes are getting staged/blocked/memorized, and now is the time to be thinking about juries again. Those are the 'finals' for all students taking private lessons. We basically get a repertoire of X number of songs to offer to a panel who will be writing comments and giving your private teacher a recommendation for a grade. Luckily I've been able to pull of a couple of 'A's.
When I was growing up, all the kids in Alameda, especially those who played sports, knew all the other kids' dads. Since I wasn't one of the stars, people knew my dad but he wasn't that cool. Now, since most of the kids are grown ups [or wannabe grown ups like me] and they all play instruments or got involved into music, all of a sudden my dad is 'cool'. Like friday, he was invited to play in my friend's band. Basically they were playing 70s rock tunes, something that my dad was never into. By the time the 70s rolled around he was already playing his own stuff. But sure enough I showed up and there he was, the only pinoy with a bunch of white kids, playing stuff you'd hear on 107.7 the Bone. Kinda cool actually, now that all my friends are raving about how awesome and cool he is.
So yeah, I have a couple of dates for you all...
Monday, November 15th - Vocal student recital at Knuth Hall, Creative Arts Bldg, SFSU
Thursday, December 2nd - Opera Scenes performance, same place as above.
Both start at 8 pm and both are FREE!!!
So for the few of you following my happenings I hope to see you there.
Oh yeah - VOODOO, you'd be proud at how I learned how to prounounce the French in my Carmen scene.
