A day in the life of a musician and his art.

So, congratulations to Maryland for winning the NCAA tournament...I was thinking the other night, wouldn't it be cool to go to a school that actually is a national champion in sports? My friend did, UCLA in 96 or something. Did I ever tell you why I was hoping to get into a Division 1 school? To play in the marching band. Did you ever notice how the band gets to travel with the sports teams? Such a selfish reason but hey, perhaps one day I can be sitting around telling stories that start out, "And then there was this one time, at band [camp, reherarsal, etc.]

Well, my friends, one week before I leave on my trip to the land that is Cuba! It just hit me the other day...I'm going to Coo-bah, I'm going to Coo-bah!!! Nah, I don't mean to rub it in, but I'm just so freakin' excited. For now I need to concentrate on learning most of the songs [i'm still real bad on the french ones.] If any of you aren't doing anything, we're having a couple of concerts this week. Friday, at 1 pm at Knuth Hall [on the SFSU campus, which, btw is free!] and Saturday, at 8 pm at St. Albert's church in Oakland. If you want more info feel free to email me at [jmaxl@hotmail.com] and put concert info in the subject heading. Anyway, I need to memorize one more song so I'm gonna head off...further bulletins as events warrant.

till next time
