Dearly Beloved Readers... if there are any left at all...
Sorry for leaving you in the lurch for the last 2 weeks or so. Have been swimming neck deep in work and final exams. Yes, that has been the sad sad story of my life. Work work work... study study study.
Am back now to continue the adventures of mooncake.
Here's what happened the last two weeks:
1) Did not move. Have decided to stick with my old victorian and low rent. Kinda hard to give up low rent you know. I decided suburbia isn't me ( I know Oakland/ Emeryville ain't exactly suburbia, but relative to SF, it is). Hard also to give up being able to run from my place through the presidio and to the Marina. Am still looking but have decided that if I'm going to pay an extra $300- $400 more for rent, my place has to have parking, hardwood and take pets. Yea, I know, am asking for a lot. Hook me up, if you know a good place coming up for rent.
2) Defended my thesis last week. The math bit didn't go so well, but people are excited by the micro data that I'm collecting and the surveys that i'm doing. Met up with super duper math/econ professor yesterday and managed to work out the mathematical kinks in the thesis. Excellent ideas. Now if only I could express myself mathematically as well as the prof.
3) Finished finals. Econometrics was kinda blah. Wasn't sure if I was doing it right but whatever. Macro was fun fun fun. Graphs and comparative stats were excellent, if I may say so myself.
4) Four of my most beloved students are graduating. Sadness... but gladness too! Got tatooed all over at last weekend's graduation, but gladly so. Best part of this job is that I get to see all these kids make it through!
