They're back

Wednesday, April 26, 2006
Over the last two days I have received the boys' school picture! Okay, I know every mother loves to brag about their children... so why should I be any different.... BUT

MY KIDS LOOK SOOOOO HANDSOME. All the teachers raved about Mio's "pretty eyes" smile in his solo picture, and AJ's "gel-lo in my hair" look in his, ohh, and you have to see just how natural my boys are in front of a camera when you see their "BROTHERS" picture.

So many of you may have never gotten our Christmas cards (cuz they are still sitting on our bookcase), but you will definitely be seeing these pictures! Just bug Damoomoo to scan them! hehehe

Thank goodness it's Finally Friday!

Well, after today Spring Break is finally over... and this whole week I have accomplished absolutely NOTHING... except for 1/2 of a baby's blanket (crocheted).

Since I sit in a registration lab all day, all I have is a computer. I made the mistake of emailing myself a document (Philippines 101 for our Likha tour), and working on it at the lab. Typed up about 3 pages full of stuff, with pictures and fancy borders, yadda yadda yadda ... Pressed the little "x" square at the top, the friendly dialogue pops up: "would you like to save...". I press YES. and BAMM it just closed up!

I couldn't find it anywhere on the computer. Temporary documents, Most recent documents, NO WHERE! I was so bummed out that I crocheted like a mad woman... I even skipped my lunch!

Since then I have had no passion to re-write anything. Not even the darn Program Review for my department that was due last Friday! Or the Press Releases that I could have done to get myself "ahead of the game".

I think I am really starting to miss people being that we can't even fill up the small Staff parking lot with who is left on campus!

Oh well, at least I get out early today... Happy Weekend all!

How do you like the new look. I'm not quite sure yet?

enjoy.

"What's Today?"

Wednesday, April 19, 2006
For the last month since I signed him up, AJ has been asking what day it is. So, practically everyday we look at his Dinosaur calendar (Thanks Ninang Drama Queen) to look for April 22nd.

Saturday April 22nd is the first day of T-Ball Clinic, or as AJ calls it, "Baseball School". So hopefully, and I am seriously crossing my fingers, knocking on wood, and praying that this nice, dry weather continues so AJ can have is day.

Today is 19, "then tomorrow will be 20, then 21, then 22. 2 and 2 make 22!"
Oh gosh, that means I HAVE to wake up early on Saturday... darn no sleeping in, and staying up late watching TV!!! I am very excited for my little man. I can't wait til we sign him up for t-ball league and he gets his uniform!!! I think I'll cry for that one, too!

Spring Break

Tuesday, April 18, 2006
I am one of the few lonely souls at school who still have to work. Apparently while I was still an hourly, the Classified Staff union was able to "win back" part of the salary cutback and in return for that furlough (mandatory day and half off non-paid) the staff gets Spring Break this year AND next year off. But since the union doesn't cover hourly (even though we had the same pay cut and furlough) I still get to work. What makes this week even harder ( besides the fact that there is no food on campus) is that the boys' school is closed too! So here is how we are managing our day care:
Monday: Mama Tess came over to our house early morning to stay with the kids. Mio cried because "I wan' mama tess to 'tay here!", as they left that evening.
Tuesday: Nana's house (meet uncles at V-town to take to double V)
Wednesday: Uncle Patrick and Uncle Joe are at the house to babysit.
Thursday: Nana's house (same as Tuesday)
Friday: Uncle Patrick and Unvle Joe are at the house.

Next year I doubt we will be touring with Likha so I will probably use my vacation time to stay home!

Problem #3 with working Spring Break. Since the campus is still technically open, I have been temporarily taken out of my Public Info position to sit in the "on-line registration" computer lab all day. Which over the last two days has attracted only 2 students, 1 of which was just looking for a computer to send an email!

Because I can only surf the internet for so long, and I am not much of a reader (I tend to fall asleep), I decided to crochet. I tried to make this scarf using the "eyelash yarn", but I couldn't tell where my "knots" were so I gave up... Bought another set of yarn to make a baby's blanket. We'll see how far I can actually get by the end of the week!

Our Easter Weekend...

Monday, April 17, 2006
was spent at home cleaning and recovering.

Friday afternoon I picked up the boys from their school. I could see the kids (what little # of them were left) outside. I could see AJ sitting down next to the Teachers Assistant. My first thought, what happened? Did he get into trouble? As soon as one kid saw him he yells out, "Mio, your mommy's here! AJ, your mommy's here, too!"

Mio comes running to me with open arms. AJ slowly walks over and says, I don't feel good cuz I'm sick. And places his hand over his head. There is definitely something wrong.

My day was pretty hectic, trying to finish all the last minute tasks before everyone else leaves for Spring Break, so I didn't even eat lunch. So, by the time we reached the double-V, my hands and nerves felt shaky, and I could feel my tummy starting to hurt. I decided to stop off at Raley's to get some deli/Chinese food.

As soon as we got home, I placed AJ on the couch and ---- BLAH.... he threw up all over the couch, the blanket, and his shirt. Then Mio started cyring for his donut, and I could smell my food sitting on counter! I quickly cleaned up the "mess" placed a bedsheet over the couch just in case it happens again, changed AJ, got Mio his donut, and finally ate my lunch/dinner.

AJ started to build a fever so he pretty much slept the rest of the night. I decided to have Mio rest too... We fell asleep watching High School Musical. We listen to the soundtrack every time we are in the car... EVERY TIME!! So while we watched Mio sang along! It was fun.

Mio fell asleep without going to the bathroom so we had a little accident again on the couch, which woke me up close to 4am. I cleaned what I could and changed Mio's clothes. I also noticed that daddy has not come home yet. I started to get worried but calling him I only got his voicemail.

I slowly transferred both boys upstairs and called again... voicemail. I slept thinking of all the bad things that could happen... I woke up a little after five am... and all of a sudden there is this big lump on the other side of the bed! At least he was safe.. I'll ask all my questions later!

Take Me out to the Ball Game...

Friday, April 14, 2006
Damoomoo had a buddy who visited earlier this week. They bought tickets for the Tuesday night game against Houston. Rained Out. So their tickets were good for Thursday night (a make-up game) It was a double-header so all the "oldie" player, like Bonds didn't play the night game, and my garlic fries were soggy (I think they were made in during the earlier game!)

So it was a difficult loss --- 8 to ZERO! Bummer... but it was great to be in the Park (AT&T, SBC, Pac Bell). But THE most difficult part to watch was First Base... yes, I will say it again... it just isn't the same with JT "golden glove" winner Snow! I believe it was top of the 8th inning. 2 outs. Houston hitter hits a fly ball in foul territory along the 1st base line...albeit it was quite a run... Niekro misses the catch...

"But if it were JT out there..." this inning would be over, and they wouldn't have scored 2 more runs! Okay, enough said!

It was great to back at the park with my 'moomoo. It has been almost 2 years. The cool thing was that his co-workers from the Arena that they were originally going to hook up with on Tuesday night all ended sitting near us! And I look down closer to the first row... there was Nilo, Bok-bok, and the volleyball crew! I partook in about 4 innings of chit-chat. That was well worth it!

And of course.... it was the most beautiful night in the city!

Vegas

I was already tired even before I arrived to work on the Friday we left!!! I forgot to pack my glasses, and my "last minute, I forgot to bring them last time" swimsuit. ( I bought them while on the LA tour and never used them, and wasn't about to spend my slot maching money on another pair) so even though I had reached Vallejo, I turned back around and went home.

So I get to work with the plan to leave at around 11am (to at least catch the first 1/2 hour of my parenting class) but got caught up in phone calls, students coming in, and last minute requests. I did sqeeze out of the office at around 11:45 only to get lost in MnM's neighborhood cuz her cell phone had no signal!

I rushed her out to join me at our old stomping ground -- SF State so I could meet with my advisor. It turns out I only need 4 more classes in my major to get my degree!! I've got to do it this time!

We rushed over to Voodoo's house to await our driver... only to make it to the airport in time to find out that our flight has been delayed for about 45 minutes! The plane ride sucked cuz I could already feel the nausea just as we started to taxi onto the runway!!! It was pretty turbulent until you see the clear sky and the dry desert. I was really trying to find the 75 feet Eva Longoria poster to commerate Maxim's something-ish anniversary or issue. Sorry, didn't see it!

The flight did leave time for me have a heart to heart with MnM which I felt was long overdue. When you live so far from your friends, you miss out on a lot. We landed and you can immediately appreciate CA's laws of no indoor smoking!

Voodoo's parent's house really nice and cozy. But we just had enough time to purty up again to have some dinner and meet up with the realy party girls. We insisted that this was MnM's weekend to let the LADY in her out!! Make--up, hair everything!!!

3 hotels is a very far walk! Cab drivers in Vegas are the scariest. People really let it all out in Vegas.

The spa time was great. I cannot do another heated stone massage... I am more hardcore, really get those knots out kinda gal. But that day we promised each other that the girls should always have a special girl spa weekend!!

The bachelorette party of the weekend then started, with the most expensive pasta I ever ate. Then the first time I ever stayed in the VIP line (free, but still waited 45 minutes) Rain is a large ass club with the smallest dance floor ever. Not the funnest when you have elbows and drunk asses bumping into you all night! But the job was done... weekender met her match and managed to get herself to the yakking point. oh what fun!

It was a dreadful sunday morning managing to get through the day with only 3 hours of sleep, and still have to make it through practice (didn't look so hot). But it was nice to see the family again... I was welcomed with "long kisses" from my babies.

It's always nice to come home!

THE PARTY...

Tuesday, April 11, 2006
Was as much planning ahead as I did, still had A LOT of last minute things. Friday, started off with printing program and CD covers. With an inkjet printer it seemed like a dot matrix. The kiddies were with me so I decided to take them for a haircut. I found a "made for kids hair salon" only 5 minutes from the house.

They loved it. Mio cried a little bit, but the lollipop helped a lot. Mio got to sit in a car AJ in a plane. AJ was adorable cuz he kept looking in the mirror checkin' out his "do". "mommy, are you proud of me?" They looked very handsome. Once we got home I rushed them into their baths and into their sweats. Damoomoo arranged for us to meet for lunch later that day on my way to the "villa" where we were prepping all the party stuff. We met at Yo-Sushi... great sushi for comparably cheaper price, but the place is very small. It actually reminds me of those roadside diners, like dairy queen.

Dropped off Mio with Nana, and headed to the Villa with AJ. AJ turned out to be a really big help. For those who saw the CD's, AJ placed ALL the covers inside the case! He was very well organized, too! In fact there were times he was calling me slow cuz he ran out of paper inserts!!!

The clapboard place cards created a total nightmare taking much longer than expected. As they were being prepared it got out of alpha order. Then I didn't receive final guest lists and table assignment until 11am the morning of the party! With a late night and late start, I didn't arrive at the hotel until 3pm. The stage was set and it was all starting to come together. But 5 arrived so fast, I was still in my sweats, and I had to recruit Likha peeps to continue with final touches.

Guests were all dressed up in their fancy dresses and tuxes/suits. The red carpet was success and the entertainment was top notch once again... RokStar is definitely making his way to a soloist... Kuya Rudi's dream come true!

The event was fun for all. In fact Auntie called me the other day "hitting the low point". Mygooseneps calls it "post-party depression". But the following weekend was to be a fun-filled weekend in Vegas! so no rest for me, yet!

The Shotglass Drama continues

Just a quick update for y'all:

Wednesday AFTER the party Damoomoo's mom called and said I have a package at the house. Well, that answered my question as to where they were going to send it! Thinking that it was the glasses, I started to wonder, "what am I going to do with 144 shotglasses"... that's one hell of a party!

But they said that it's a small package... [cue very confused look]

I opened it and....

The package enclosed 144 boxes that hold the shotglasses! I was ready to drop the whole issue... but this showed up! What to do now?! This company REALLY SUCKS!!
