Do not patronize DISCOUNT MUGS/Bel Inc.

Thursday, March 30, 2006
If anyone out there is planning an event looking for imprinted glassware (i.e shotglass, mugs, wine glasses, etc) do not use Discount mugs or Bel Inc. I had placed an on-line order with this company on Tuesday, March 14th. After not receiving any package by Friday, I decided to call on that following Monday. I kept getting transferred to an un-recognizable voicemail. So I decided to call again a 3rd time demanding that I get transferred to a human being! Please take note that all customer service related questions cannot be answered through their 1 800 number, you have to call their local MIAMI, FL number!

After I finally got to a human being, who took all my information, and put me hold, as I was waiting their end rings and I am back to Customer Service. I was then told that the person I was talking to went to lunch. I then demanded (yes, at this point I was beyond pleasantries) that my call be returned before the end of the business day. Did I receive a phone call --- NO. I called before 5pm their time, and everyone had gone home already! Thanks for nothing!

I called again the next day re-explaining my experience. And sure enough there was the note about my order sitting on her desk...again with no attempt to call me. At my wit's end I told her to cancel order. And as soon as I got to work, I wrote to the Better Business Bureau.

They actually replied quite quickly but it was full of LIES. Which then prompted me to contact their supervisor. I explained my anger with her employees, and wrong how it is to lie on such a report "We had attempted to contact Mighty Mom, to inform her of the wrong shipping charge, as we could not charge the card without her approval." Bull crap! So the manager promised a case free of charge, and that I will receive a phone call with a tracking number. Now in my anger I gave my home address (after thinking about it, no one is home to receive it). So I wait and check my door for the friendly UPS "sorry we missed you", but to no avail.

So again on Monday morning (6 am our time) I called the manager. Get a voicemail. I call 3 times. No returned call. Tuesday, called again --- voicemail. I call again demanding to speack someone. Lady takes my information and phone number and tells me that her supervisor will call me back. No returned call. Wednesday morning (feeling sick with sore throat and a stiff neck) I ask to speak to the same person who is not the right lady.... I am already yelling at the customer service person. I dial their local number, press 1 for customer service, and then they tell me it's the wrong department! I tell them to not put me on hold. I am not waiting for the next available representative. I get the original lady I cancelled my order with. I told her that M promised me a case. I just need an F'in tracking number and to know whether or not I am going to get these glasses...
"Ma'am can I get your phone number..." Hell no, I do not trust you or anyone in this company to call me back. Well I cannot call M without putting me on hold. Well find another telephone in your area and call her! I am not waiting for you to call me back! I just want to know if this has actually shipped or not! I wait, she calls me on her cell phone as she is walking to the warehouse. Can we call you back with the shipping number... NO, again I do not trust you enough to call me back. I will wait for the tracking number. I get it. thanks to all my hard work!
It is now Thursday. I go to the tracking website, and it cannot be found! I call the company albeit passed 5pm. I just want to know if it really went out.. can you feel me not trusting this company?! I am really worried... I guess we have to wait and see what happens on Friday.

Translation of Mio talk: Thank You.

To all our friends and family for your birthday wishes and to those who made the trip to join us for our "last minute" pizza (supposed to be Fenton's) party. As tiring of a day that it was (filling in for Ms. Luzon during practice) and just attempting to entertain all our guests... Mio and AJ had lots of fun! It's amazing how fast you can go through quarters on just 2 video games a couple of toy/sticker "vending machines".

Thanks to Drama Queen and Mr. Rios my kids cried to sleep because I wouldn't let them open their new toys! By the time we got home it was past their bedtime so they have to wait until we get home from school today.

It was great to see and talk to some friends I don't get to see from Likha, especially Weekender and Etch and da Madayags, who are expecting their 4th child! Mommy was even encouraging us to have another because I was pregnant around the same time with her last 2! Try again later (in 4 years!!)

Junior Prom
This past Saturday, my younger brother attended his Junior Prom... OH MY GOSH! He was the one that pointed out that when I attended my Jr. Prom, he was born! (I actually think he was at least 1, but I could be wrong!) He looked very handsome I must say, and his date looked really nice, especially with a personally made corsage by Mygooseneps. I will try to post pictures. My mom and I brought him to the pre-prom party at their friend's house and stayed until they left in their limo to take them to Golden Gate Fields. Wow, the memories.

STRESS
This week is a short week for us. Our campus will be closed on Friday in observance of Cesar Chavez Day (it was switched from Good Friday). Which really worked out for me because I will be preparing for my auntie's birthday party! Wow, a whole year of planning has pretty much come down to this last week! I am excited (and stressed) to see how my "visions" will actually play out that night.

It's MIO Day!

Happy 3rd Birthday to my MIO!

Once again I found myself making blueberry muffins for the class party. I thought I figured out all the measurements or by "sight" how full the cup should be to make the batter last for 24 muffins. I was wrong, so we had to bust out the last box and make the mix again... but this time I overbaked the muffins... so there are half lightly brown muffins, and dark top muffins (hmmm, sort of like how damoomoo and I look side by side!)

So today, my baby is 3. I told my boss that this is the baby I was 2 or 3 months pregnant with when they first hired me in Oct of 2002. This is the baby that would cause major discomfort when I hit 7 month because he would move so much while I was sitting at my desk. This is the same baby that gave me labor pains for a week before finally coming out in the world.

This is the same baby, that needs a pillow to sleep with. That I constantly have to fight with just to clean/touch his nose. That has a constant cold/allergies. That is in a constant battle with eczema. That is constantly running around. That is constantly eating or drinking. That is constantly wanting to do things his own way. This is my MIO!

But if it weren't for my Mio, our family would not be complete. As much I had wished that he was girl... it has been fun watching my boys grow up together to be the best of friends, and at times "not my friend"!

Happy Birthday Mio! Mommy loves you!!

My blog about NOT blogging

Thursday, March 16, 2006
Yes it has been awhile since my last post.
Update:

Everyone is pretty much non-contagious...except last night I started to feel a sore throat building?! Both boys are back in school, and I am once again a carpool.

Yesterday, as I took them to their morning classroom, AJ says to Mio, "Okay, Mio I'll see you outside later," and he makes his way to the "building/lego" table. Mio walks to the book area where a couple of girls are sitting. "Hi," he says. They replied, "Hi, AJ"... "NOOO, I'm MIO!" as he laughs and takes a seat across from them.

As for this Mighty Mom... I am tired... work is continually piling up, the "gala affair" for my aunt is really close, and I have lots to do! Now, I'm not feeling too great, and it just gets worse as we are still trying to catch up on the housework. Damoomoo has been great in making the boys lunch every morning, and getting dinner ready at night. I like having him home instead of working. The boys even started to play catch in the house... AJ is learning how to catch with his mitt. He can definitely hit the plastic ball (it almost hit me in the face), and he can throw... Can't wait for T-ball league to start this summer!

Yesterday AJ stayed home sick with a fever and PINK EYE! I noticed that in the middle of the night he was (in my opinion) burning up. When I called the handy dandy advice nurse, she said that with young children you want them to just "wait out" a low grade fever like his. But he was able to get "phone treatment" for his pink eye. So, all in all, damoomoo just made one trip out for this eye drops.

However, today before damoomoo left AJ with Nana, he said that his cough was getting more intense. Our fear is that he caught whatever my nephew had when we saw him on Saturday... and just last night I found out that it ended being strep (sp?) throat! So now, not only are we watching the fever, washing sheets/pillow cases from the pink eye, and keeping Mio away... it's really making our days pretty tough.

But as we all laid down to rest last night we watched Harry Potter. I am huge fan of the books, and this was my favorite so far (I haven't read the Half Blooded Prine!). So to see it again in the movie format was so much fun. Damoomoo liked it too!

Party Planning
I am now officially in planning mode as the day of my aunt's 50th "gala affair" is approaching. I am starting to really lose sleep as all these scenarios and ideas just keep popping up in my head... hopefully soon I'll be able to really organize it all and be able to really visualize the event in a smooth and calm manner! yeah right?!

First Day of School

Wednesday, March 01, 2006
Well, I think I wrote about the "pre-school trial" session I spent with Mio last week. Apparently, it REALLY worked! I decided to stay home with Mio to ensure that the potty-training is a success. He only had 1 accident the whole day. He even started to tell me when it was time to go! And on Tuesday, he stayed with Nana, and to her surprise... He went all day long without an accident!

HIP... HIP... HOOOORAAAAAAAAAAY!!! The biggest weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

SO, today was his first official day at pre-school! (sniff, sniff!) We spent last night running to Payless Shoes to buy shoes that easily slide on and off (w/ velcro). They were BOGO (buy one, get one) 1/2 off, so Kuya walked away with a new pair, too! Then we rushed over to Target to buy a lunch box. These are the hardest thing to find when it's NOT back to school time!

As soon as we got home I had to pack all the extra clothes, fill out the paperwork, and Damoomoo and I gave them their baths and off to sleep!

TODAY, we were a carpool, so we WHIZZED by all the commuters, cutting down our regular commute by 15 to 20 minutes! As soon as we went to drop AJ off in his class, Mio was ready to go, but his class is next door! AJ gave his little brother the biggest hug, and said, "have a good day in Ms. S's class." In his classroom, a cubby hole was not ready, so Mio dragged his lunchbox AND coat all around the classroom.

I already visited this afternoon to have lunch with him. The teachers say he is doing really well. He has already gone potty by himself. (I just have to get him to do #2?!)

I am very proud of my 2 boys. I can't believe they are both in school. Mio will be 3 in 3 weeks, and next year, AJ will start Kindergarten... Now I'm really gonna cry!!!
