Happy Birthday to YOU!!

My little man, AJ is 3 today!!! wow, 3 years ago I had my first baby... Can i tell my birthing story...

7months pregnant and our stupid Board of Directors terminate all of us via fax. Close all the bank accounts so phone, energy and other bills, and paychecks were not paid!! Brahma just got laid off from his computer teching gig, and we signed a lease for a condo! We still managed to move in, and I was home for 2 months awaiting our big day. Watching the 9/11 occur was frightening as I wondered what kind of world AJ was being brought into. Went through my checklist of things over and over and over again.

My mom arrived from the Philippines, and as soon as we got home I started to feel contractions! We waited, my mom in bed with me, and the contractions got stronger. We woke up Brahma, and he drove at 1:30 am to Alta Bates. False alarm... went back home and they said to walk... so we did, but as we walked around Raley's I had to stop every 5 or so minutes for a contraction to pass... this may be it!!

They didn't stay consistent until after we went to bed. Clock by my side, they finally reached a point for me to go, and Brahma waited a little longer this time.. but at 2:00 am we were off to the hospital... This time it was for real, 4 cm dilated and getting stronger. I immediately agreed without hesitation to have the epidural, and I was in heaven.. able to sleep and not feel a thing, especially when that catheter went in.

Hours passed by, and more family began to arrive. I literally had an audience, and by 4pm I didn't care who was there during the exams!!! Unfortunately I was dilating and they had to monitor baby's heartbeat cuz it would get slower... at 5pm or so, they said that we may have to opt for a c-section... and they did... at 6:40-ish my baby was born!!! We began our new lives as parents. We spent the next 4 days in the hospital, me trying to recover from the surgery, and Brahma was back and forth preparing our home.

So today, I look back at his first steps, his first words, and now his first potty trip, first day I sent him to daycare. And look forward to my conversations with my baby, and getting him off the bottle.

New phrases include: "Mommy, I want to be power rangers!" So we put on the costume
"Are you serious?", "What did you say to me?", "Mio, stop that!! Do you want time-out?", and of course his many talents of talking on his cell phone, drumming to his own beat, and dancing around in circles!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

Flashing Red Lights...

Wednesday, October 20, 2004
= STOP... yeah you selfish drivers who are already speeding through residential areas as it is... you know if you are in that much of a hurry, then you should have gotten up at the first ring of your alarm, cut your shower in half, get your coffee when you reach your destination... or something... but when a school bus is making its rounds in the morning or afternoon... there are kids involved. When the red lights start to flash and stop sign sticks out, it's just the same as the "crossing guard" walking in the middle of the intersection blowing that whistle... SO STOP!!!

Or maybe the signs aren't that clear you!!!! then you should be on a bus!!

Okay.. sorry but i just had to vent my road outrage!!! I guess since I got hit by a car back in high school [that's another blog] while crossing the street on campus, and have kids of my own, this is a little personal. So please all my baby blogger readers, pay attention to the road. Besides you shouldn't be rushing around in life, it's way too short!

Computer Heaven...

Monday, October 18, 2004
Last last week (or 2 weeks ago) before I left for vacation, my main computer at work CRASHED... as in EVERYTHING GONE! Files, My website favorites, EVERYTHING. Not only did it crash and burn, I was without a replacement or loaner for a whole week! I never realized how much I relied on my computer until it was gone. I was stuck working in my "supplemental job" in the office down the hall (w/ a boss that's always around and looking at what I am working on, explaining my blog slacking). And as if that was not enough... Thursday, before .com's wedding, our computer at home crashes. Now that was horrible for Damoomoo because he was still working on his mixes for the wedding!!! sige, too much downloading... hahahahaa

So, in my blogging absence here's what has happened...

Top Gun (old friend fr. jr high/high school) and his family were in town. Unfortunately, couldn't find the right time to get together this time around. But it better happen during the holiday season!!! Ironically, I was re-introduced to his cousin while attending Mrs.com's bridal shower/bachelorette party!!! What a small world!!!

Of course the .com wedding finally arrived!!! AJ was the planned "ring bear" as he calls himself. He did perfectly fine, walking down the aisle with Daddy and the coin bearer. Unfortunately, on the actually day... tantrum!!!! AGGGGGHHH... we practically gave up and started to apologize for him not being able to participate!!! But in the final second... he calmed down... but not enough to where he would walk... Damoomoo carried him down the aisle. Oh, but he was fine playing in the pew! The funny part came during the ceremony. At rehearsal AJ was not supposed to go up and present the rings... the Best Man and Groom had them in their pockets... but when it came that time, everyone looked in our direction for AJ!!! So, in his reluctance, the ring bear all of sudden grew up, cuz damoomoo walked up!!!

The reception was much fun! A lot of fun... but in the end I was just plained pooped!!!

Sunday we were supposed to leave for Vegas, but that didn't happen cuz damoomoo did not tell me he wanted to play softball that night, too. So we said we would leave first thing Monday morning... "first thing" became 12 noon!!! long...long...long drive~!!!!

We finally arrived and looked at several housing developments... my favorite, Iron Mountain. 2 new elementary schools and upcoming shopping areas. Big houses and huge walk in closets!!!! Before we make any moves, we have to look for jobs! So that will be a slow process for now.

While in Vegas we took the kids to see the aquarium at Cesear's Palace, and the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay... really cool.... ask AJ and he will show you the jellyfish, the hammerhead, the turtle, sharks, and sawfish in his "passport" book. Mio, he just enjoyed walking around!!

WOW, that is a lot... i'll have to finish after I eat my lunch...

Boys will be BOYS...

and mine are no different. They are a year and a half apart. Fight a lot over toys, even when we buy 2 of the same things! But for Mio, whatever AJ has, that is the one he wants! A lot of times, though Mio will just be off playing with his own toys, converting his baby lounge chair into a slide, or just eating! Lately, as I have mentioned will be glued to either Animal Planet or Mariokart!

Damoomoo has been preparing his mixes for the .com wedding this Saturday. I must say he still impresses me! The funny part is that when the CD's are done and we play them in the car, AJ will say "I like that song, Mommy!" and then he'll start to dance and sing the words... Okay, yes it's cute, especially when the song is "Whoop, there it is!"... Whatever happened to the Wiggles and other Children Favorites!

We practiced yesterday for our performance and got the break down for our Brazil auditions. Pretty intense, but I can already tell you that I am not using the Spanish piece for my audition!!

Looking forward to the wedding performance.. see if I can do a dance I don't know, again!!

gotta get back to work.. boss is back!!!
