The Yanger Oysterque
On Saturday, the family 'o fun attended the 2nd annual Yanger Oysterque at Squig's house... on the golf course!  Well, actually it's his parents, but they still stay at their "older" home, and that's their weekend, "investment" home!

Aside from piggin out on oysters all day, my rugrats and hung out with Yanger Generation 2... FINALLY!  Since AJ was born, he has pretty much been the only child, now with Mio at these events.  Well there is another family within this group but they live in 1,o00 Oaks, and really don't make all the small gatherings..

So here is the YG2 list... KOaks kids, AJ, Mio, Maddy, Mackenzie, Matteo!!  Maddy and Mackenzie are about 6-7 months old.  Matteo, our newest addition is only 6 weeks old!!!  So, needless to say... we had a Yanger daycare going...and there was me giving as much advice as possible!!!  Most important, and I will share this with any new parent... Let your child be exposed to the noise around your house... Don't get them used to complete quiet... You'll just make it hard on yourself... and DON'T carry them ALL the time.  Let them lay down on their own... cuz you will notice the difference as they get older!!!

Babies poppin out everywhere... my kids are no longer the "babies" of the group,  but no matter what they will always be center stage for me, and the life of any party!!! heheheee  At the oysterque.. my kids were the one posing and cheezin it for the camera!!!  That's right.. you know you have a ham on your hands when they start posing for the camera!  For my likha-ers, it how we look when we take group pictures!  I guess I shouldn't wonder where they get it from, right?!

Next Saturday, I will be going out to celebrate Weekender's XXX!!! Got my babysitters in line, so Brahma and I are looking forward to hanging out w/ the gang!!! But be sure I WILL bring at least one picture of my rugrats, cuz most of them haven't seen my babies... SHAME on YOU!!! just kidding... better watch out, uncles and aunties, cuz birthdays and holidays are come around, heheheheheheheeheheeee

This July is filled with excitement!!!

Wednesday, July 14, 2004
As every july begins, we look for where to watch the fireworks. I don't know what it is, but I always enjoy watching fireworks. I have sworn off the city during this time because apparently the last few years it had been too foggy. So, luckily the though of inviting ourselves to Ms. Skywalker's house, we jumped at the opportunity for another bbq.

It was a nice nite and we were ready.. but by the time we reached the waterfront the excitement began before the fireworks! First, Ms. Skywalker's dog get attacked by a pit bull! All of sudden I hear "get your dog off of him!!" and hear Kobi whimpering from the pain. Although he will be okay, Skywalker says that he still gets a little jumpy.

Then not too long after the comotion... a fire starts on the other side of the water. Apparently set off by illegal fireworks and set off a grass fire behind some homes. I was getting scared because I know that fires can grow pretty quickly. Luckily, the fire dept responded quickly, and the wind wasn't blowin very hard.

By the time it came around the fireworks weren't as amazing as our "pre-show"

As soon as we finished our 4th of July long weekend by not doing anything at all the next day... it was time to go back to work... and prepare for our weekend in Lake Tahoe! Brahma is playing with D.O.M., Dirty Old Men in a softball tournament. Because of the "hook up" from one of the other teammates' wife, we are all staying in suites at the Marriott!!! Woo hoo... luxury for discount prices! And a luxury it was!

We shared a 3 room suite w/ another family who has a son between AJ and Mio's age. Brahma and I took the room w/ 2 queen beds (1 for me and Mio, 1 for Brahma and AJ).. no we still don't share a bed!! my brothers who joined us each took a day bed in the living room, and the other room had a king bed. Then we had a full kitchen and 3 bathrooms, 1 of which had a jacuzzi tub... but didin't need it cuz the swimming pool was just below us!! And of course that is where Aj wanted to be!!

We only got to watch 1 game cuz the kids fell asleep during the next 2 and we couldn't wake up by 9am the next day to watch the last game that eliminated them from the tourney. The highlight of the weekend for me was hanging out with the Moms in the group... imagine 5 women who don't get out much and usually seen with a husband and/or children by the side, suddenly given the freedom to do whatever...

Well, these women can drink.. I can't, as weekender and voodoo can vouch for, so I just took half of that chocolate cake shot, and was done. They even broke out with their cigarettes, and just people watched. We sat in Harvey's to "party w/ Arty" at the bar. I of course had to dance as much of that alcohol as possible. We actually ended up dancing w/ the 2 youngest guys on the DOM team who were invited to join the team for the tournament... so harmless and innocent, I SWEAR!!

We made it back home by 2am and arrived to our room to all the boyz sleeping soundly in bed. Brahma was so knocked out that he did not even budge when I walked in! While we were there, we received a phone call... Mr. & Mrs. Math Major had their baby!!! congratulations you guys... I hope we can visit soon!!! Welcome to the family baby professor!!

Baby Update:
at the tahoe trip, AJ learned how to blow bubbles under water, and Mio lost most of his fear and started to let go of me... he even started to pretend jumping off the wall (from the sitting position).

my babies are crying... but before i go.. there has been progress in the potty training.

today he has gone all day without accidents!!! and he is still in briefs, but I have not dared to leave the house in order to make it consistent... hopefully he will continue tomorrow while staying home w/ Nana!!!
