Sorry for the long absence again.

Since my situation at work has changed so dratically, I have been at home A LOT! You would think that working at home would be easy... but just checking email takes me about an hour. And it's not because I have hella email. It's because I have 2 little rugrats who have to touch all the buttons, click the mouse, go to playhouse disney! So right now I'll fit in as much as I can!

Family Reunited in one country
During this latest vacation visit, my mom and stepdad have decided to move back to the US!! Needless to say my 2 younger brothers were very happy to oblige. The plan is to have them stay with Nanay for now. They have registered for school in that area Joe Cool is going to 8th grade and Big Guy is going to be a sophomore. They are scared because they never used lockers before and will be attending public school for the first time. They have been working hard to build up their wardrobe because now they won't have uniforms!

Right now Mama and Pappa are in PI selling all the furniture packing as much stuff as they can, and selling the house. It will be a struggle but it will be nice to have them closer! since they will be around I also bought our season passes to 6 flags, and we went for 1/2 a day last week. CUD was quit happy to watch the dolphins and the whale. He still talks about it, and can show you how they swim, dance, and even spit out water from their mouth! While the weather is still cool, hopefully we can go again!

RIP Lyn-Lyn
Last Tuesday I received a call from one of my students. She broke the sad news that her best friend, Lyn had passes away while attending a No Doubt Concert. She was only 23! Right now they say it was caused by heart arithmia (sp?) I had the pleasure of working with Lyn as her youth counselor when I worked at FAA and she was a Junior in high school. I strongly believe that she didn't really need our services but quite enjoyed the work we did and I always enjoyed her sense of humor and sweet nature.

Last year I ran into her and Jen Del in the halls at work, and began working with them again. Thinking they had already transferred, I learned that Lyn and Jen were both transferring to my old stomping grounds at SFSU this coming fall. Unfortunately Jen will be going through that journey alone.

I attended the funeral yesterday which was very heartbreaking. Parents should never have to bury their children when they still have so much to live for. Anyone could plainly see how close they were as a family, and how Lyn pretty much touched many people's lives by just being her! Up until that day, I was in denial of the whole thing and could not imagine this experience. She was one of my best students, a memorable one for sure... Now her family and friends have another angel watching over all of them!

As for my little ones..
AJ is having full conversations now. Asking and answering questions. He is identifying colors and shapes, although Red and Triangles seem to be everywhere. He is constantly watching School of Rock and carrying "drumsticks" everywhere.

Mio just had his check up with ended with 5 shots! It was hard to witness especially since I can't stand needles either! But he walked out of there happy with his bottle, and even flirted and blew kisses to the ladies working in the pharmacy. "he made my day I heard them say as we walked out the door! I must say my little one is growing to be quite a ladies man.... so watch out world.. I got a true Laxa male on my hands!

The doctor is referring us to a hearing test since he hasn't developed much of a vocabulary yet. He is just starting to baby babble. So we are increasing our reading and singing time. I am quite confident that nothing is wrong, but it was just a precaution and a sure way to measure just how far behind he may be. I don't think it is nothing we cannot remedy or anything permanent. However, I could tell that daddy was quite worried!

As for my life.. well this is it. I am looking forward to going to a regular schedule at work, but I have to admit that I have enjoyed my time I get to spend with the men of my life... and I am the queen, until we actually get daddy to give me a princess (not for another 5 years people)

Summertime... summertime....

Means slow at work!! Well, reality here is my list:
1. Pack up everything in my office to move by June 25th
2. Not get paid during this pay period
3. Work hard for the golf tournament
4. See #2
5. Come in when I want to because of #2.
6. Stay at home with the kiddies because of reason #2.
7. Work more hours at The Disney Store (for which I switched my hours to fit a full time work schedule at the school, but for reason #2... that's all screwed up!)
8. Spend more time on the computer updating and reading the blogs.

So, as you can see I am not getting paid for this pay period. Because I work for a school my pay period is monthly!! Why is this happening... well, it has saved me from the horrible cuts that our school has endured. As "short term hourly" employee, I did not have a 7% pay cut, but still considered at the bottom of the totem pole. However, there was a "day limit" for the fiscal year. Which by the end of the May pay period I had gone over.

The good news, because I couldn't just take off a month due to the move and golf tournament, my great boss will pay me retroactively at the beginning of the next fiscal year in July!!! Thanks for the small blessings!

I did change my shift at TDS to twilight (work stock after the store closes). Which has been okay, because it has given me the rest of the day to hang out with my kids and hubby. And by the time I start work, it's time for the kiddies to supposedly wind down.

It's has begun...
The "WHY" stage has started. You know what I'm talking about. Why? Because there is a point when you just don't have anymore answers. Why? And then you reach a point where you just want to run out screaming. Why? (i think you get the point!

AJ is now at this why stage. And when I try and turn it on him... he just simply answers, "Because I said". Well that's the end of that!

Both AJ and Mio are also at this "I'm going to say Hi to everyone I see". AJ is the vocal one... "hi, HI!, Hello!!", and Mio is there waving... and will return a smile if you actually respond!

OH, Mio got a haircut! He finally looks like a BOY!!! AND, he also is getting darker like daddy because we were outdoors at the Pista Sa Nayon event at the Waterfront. Mainly waiting for our time to perform!! Honestly that had to be the worse performance, but my kids enjoyed themselves outside running around. AJ actually enjoyed watching the performances, especially the martial arts groups! which explains why he went home and started swinging the toy golf club around and posing like Jackie Chan, while yelling "HIIIII-YAAAA!"

That's it for today... til the next time something big comes around!!
