Happy New Year Everyone...
Well, let's work our way back... School is closed for 2 weeks so access to the computer is quite difficult with two little rugrats thriving for your attention evry second. Although I was on vacation from my "bills paying" job, I worked A LOT at the Disney Store. Practically 20 to 25 hours a week, with a couple twilight shifts in between. I also worked a lot of 8 hour shifts compared to my 4 hour shifts during regular season.
With that work situation, it was a little difficult to get all my shopping done. Brahma took 2 weeks off as well, but still worked a lot at the Arena, too. So, Despite our "vacations" we hardly spent time together at home. Then Christmas came...
We drove over to P-town to visit the my relatives for some Christmas Eve dinner and the marathon of "The Restaurant". Then drove back to V-town to visit and celebrate UPS guy's birthday with our friends. I stayed up trying to start my christmas cards, but in 2 hours I only completed 8!! I think I should have cut all the paper first!
We stayed up... and when I say "we" I meant all 4 members of the Family of fun!! til 3 am!
Needless to say we started leaving the house at 1pm to head over to Monterey to the Keyopes family Christmas lunch. They were all waiting for us, by the time we got there, but I got to grub on whole lot of crab and rice (eating with my hands!!!) Just like mom used to do!!
Cud and Gimb2 walked away with a game cube and whole lot of toys... then we headed for Sunnyvale. As I tried to keep Brahma awake for the hour drive, we got there by about 6pm. Just in time to munch on some dinner!!! Unfortunately, the house is REALLY small to accomodate all of us and allow the kids to roam around, but luckily they were just as tired as we were!
Again, the kids walked away with a bag full of toys... I think it's time to start donating some of the old ones to Goodwill or send to the Philippines. Because of ALL their toys, they really don't get to play with one toy in particular. Except for Cud who is really hooked on cars and cards. You will rarely see him put either toy down!!!
It was GIMB2's first Christmas. I think he enjoyed trying to eat all the wrapping paper more than anything else. Maybe by next year it be more fun and memorable for him... he'll be able to rip through the paper by then!!
I had to work the next day... by hour 4 I was exhausted. A lot of people returned stuff, but they either exchanged it for a different size or bought something in addition to it, so we actually didn't do too bad! But I was glad I was not shopping that day, cuz by mid-afternoon that mall was PACKED!!!
As we slowly recovered from our hectic Christmas, we soon felt the new year approaching. Our dilemma was: how do we host our annual Family o fun New Years Day Brunch? Luckily, the "A" family came to our rescue and opened their home! unfortunately as the evite went out, people were not checking their email. so our brunch was a little smaller this year! oh, well, we decided to call it a night after USC kicked some University of Michigan butt and take the kids to Lolo and lola and watched "The Last Samurai". Yeah yeah yeah, it's one of the "white man to the rescue kind of movies, but the action scenes were really good... (and I was out gendered 3 to 1)... from the 2nd row!!
Well that is how our 2003 holiday season came and gone! Now it's time to prepare for GIMB2's 1st birthday and Christening!! may our 2004 be even more blessed... (and for me .. pregnant free for now!!!) Best of luck with a smooth labor to all the expectant moms!!!
