SICK !!!
When I was in college living with my roommate (female) all I worried about was having our period at the same time...
Now as a mother, I worry about much more! When one person is sick... I can almost guarantee that we are all going to catch it... Being the mommy it isn't easy to "just rest" and sleep it off. Every time I begin to doze off, I get up because I can hear my youngest crying (he started this flu!!) because the poor thing can't breathe and drink the bottle at the same time! Eventually, I had to tell my husband that I have to stay upstairs and sleep, and he had to stay home and watch the kids!

Eventually I got over it, but the older baby ended up catching a cold and cough. However, it hasn't stopped him from wandering outside in the backyard and going out on errands with daddy! So if you see a dried snotty nosed kid, it might be mine...

Note to new mothers... babies hate their noses to be touched, yet alone cleaned!!

Mommy and Daddy are going to Vegas
Our annual weekend away without kids is coming up this weekend! YIPPY :)
Although I am looking forward to this weekend without changing diapers, middle of the night feedings, and taking turns at the casino while the other watches the baby... I know that I will be walking around calling my babies on the phone to check up on them, and thinking, "am i bad mommy for not taking my kids with me?"!!!

But I must be strong, and know that my kids are still too young to really enjoy the fun family things in vegas anyways,, right?! I guess we won't be priority passengers and get to board the plane first either!! blahhhh ;P

I gotta read Weekender's blog about all the clubs she visited in vegas so we can get the most out of this weekend!

Baby Sitters
As I had written before, CUD has been going to a baby sitter. Highly referred by close friends of my husband. Actually the baby sitter is related to them. Anyways, we going on our third month of taking him, however, it still breaks my heart to have to leave him while he is crying is lungs out!! I feel like such a mean mommy leaving my child like that. But you have to do what you have to do.

I figured that it was our fault. Since he was our first child, we took him everywhere. Up until recently he did very well in restaurants. Probably the only place I don't take hime to is the club!!! Not that I go anymore either, but you get my point. Furthermore, if he wasn't it us, he was with is grandparents. So, I guess it can be real shocker watching your younger brother being the one carried by "lolo" instead of yourself when the morning routine begins.

Potty Training
Where is my husband in this whole experience!! Unfortunately, potty training has seemed to back fire on me. It hasn't gotten any easier, and in fact I think he is enjoying the changing diapers routine. Experts say that older children tend to digress in their development by their own choice when they see you "babying" their younger sibling.

Heck yeah... I would too if I had grown up with all the attention!!! Sometimes I wonder if spouses do the same when they aren't feeling appreciated as well?! hmmmmm....

Back to School
Yesterday I went to my all time favorite store (aside from Gemco when I was young!!!)... TARGET!!! and it just brought back all the memories of back to school shopping. Then I thought for a moment what it will be like when our boys start school....

Sorry kiddies, your supplies are going to be courtesy of mommy and daddy's work!! hehehheee. But don't worry, I'll find some way to make them look fun... otherwise you better hope that heavy duty 5 star binder last you until junior high!!!

Buying a Home... Not buying a home?!
Okay, so we are trying to join this large bandwagon of first-time home buyers taking advantage of the low interest rates. But jeez, can you believe how much people are trying to sell their houses these days!!! Especially all these new developments in the East Bay.... you are looking at starting prices of high 400's to even 600's! And that doesn't include the so-called "ammenities" Translation: you want a countertop for that kitchen, or doors for that closet!

Well we are looking to just find a starter home... I am not Too concerned with the school yet cuz we have a couple more years until we really need to worry.... I am not sending my boys to our local school district to attend public school!!
But I also can't afford private school for two boys for 12 years! Just give us some space to let our boys be BOYZ, and room for DJ Brahma to do his thang!! And me... I just want a space of my own to decorate and organize!!! I want shelves ... lots of them!! and place to hang our pictures :)

Back to Work

Well I am actually kinda of glad to be here... a little break from dirty diapers, bottles, and marine world!! Now the students are rolling in and scholarship checks are going out! The new semester will be starting on monday!!!

Baby Necessities
I was walking around target the other day and saw a mom-to-be carrying around the "gun" that use to register for items on your "wish list". I wanted to go up to her so bad and tell her which stroller to get cuz there are certain things you look for, which car seat, bath tub, etc. so here is my list of what every new mom should have

1. Boppy Pillow
2. Microwavable Sterilizer or self-timed ones... don't have to bother with checking the boiling points and microwave just takes 4 min
3. Strollers - one big one for long trips when you use more stuff. has a big basket underneath and cup holders. then a small umbrella one (when they are older) with an actual umbrella covering!! have a small pillow handy for when your little falls asleep cuz it doesn't look very comfortable!!
4. Thermos: the kind that you push down on the top and it pours out the water... only if you are feeding powdered or concentrated formula. They make a day's worth of 4-oz bottles before you have to refill it, and keeps water warm! We also had a small slender one that made 4 bottles for the road!
5. Pre-measured cups stackable for formula: they look like something from the Philippines or Japanese stores. but are great for travelling babies and when you are out and about... try and get the kind with the top attached to lid. You'll know what i am talking about when you see it!!
6.Diaper Bags: One big one for long trips and one small for short trips. Make sure it easily organized for diapers and bottles, and room for mom's wallet, keys, phone, and make-up if you bother!!! Open up the bag to make sure the openings are wide enough to access stuff quick and easy for those unexpected throw-up sessions!!
7. Changing station organizerkeep the diapers, diaper rash ointment, powder, cotton balls, water bottles, all in order and maybe have double if you spend most of your day in other parts of the house!
8. rack in your kitchen: hubby bought those kitchen organizers that have space underneath to keep stuff in place. so we placed all our clean bottles in a rectangle bucket, dirty ones in a round bucket to allow for a small pile up, and the sterilizer, pacifiers, and feeding bowls and spoons underneath. Either way your kitchen will look twice as crowded!!!
9. If people buy you diapers for your baby shower, ask for different sizes. Same rule for the clothes... and make sure they are appropriate for the weather at the time. It really makes a difference. We ended up not using half the size 1 diapers given to us cuz he already out grew them ( we started with about 16 packs). (hint: my 4 month old already wears size 6-9months.)

You will be amazed by how much room a little one can take!! Our room belongs to our boyz... Well i gotta get back to work... my list will continue next time!!
