After months of anticipation awaiting the return of the Brahma Bull, it can be said... Finally, the Dad.. Has come back to the Baby Blog. What up ya'll? From the dad's perspective comes the most electrifying Blog in internet entertainment. And now the millions...AND millions of the Dad's fan's can see exactly what the dad has been up to. Well, after plenty of months have passed, my goal of losing weight is becoming a reality. Since the Cover Brothas have been working out four days a week (to mom's dismay), dad has burned away lbs. of fat and turned it into the muscles that used to be there before his days with mommy. I still can't stay away from the occassional Krispy Kreme or double cheese burger, but I can say that fried okra from Church's fried chicken have not touched these lips. (I'll go there when I get off work today!) Unfortunately, working out has taken a lot of time away from mommy and baby but with a big show in a couple of months coming, I can't show up like I did in PI, huffing and puffing with my gut hangin' out. Anyways, I got a lotta buddies who had kids and threw the diet out the window, all the while people made comments so I'm not going out like that. I see it as a way to prepare myself for the years to come. Our baby is gonna be a big and active baby boy so be in shape. I originally wanted to get in shape because I got tired just carrying him and that was a joke. Then it got heavy carrying the carseat and that was crazy. Now I'm getting close to super dad so that's more like it.
We took our little family to the mall yesterday and in my excitement I bought the family some new Nikes. All three of us now how our shoes for when we go to Disneyland in LA in May. Running Nike Shox for everyone! I couldn't get my eyes off of them so they are now going to be on our feet. Even the baby ones which are a couple sizes bigger are tight! Wait till he gets his outfit. The wife will look cute as ever in her new kicks too. They should be really comfortable. Too bad they don't go "Boing!"
A lot has gone on in the past months but the goals have remained the same: watch the family grow, make sure we have our roof over our heads, don't eat food in the Matrix! If you're looking to buy a new car, this can fit almost all of your needs. I don't feel like a mini-van daddy. Mommy can sport her new sunglasses. Baby has plenty of room in the back and the seats have been perma plated so any spills just wipe right off like a kitchen counter. Six disc in-dash CD changer with 6 speakers, newly tinted windows, and a speedy 130 HP engine round out how cool this car is. I won't turn it into a rice rocket but 18's are surely on the way. This car has fit our family to a T. If only the damn cats would stay off the hood it would be all good.
We'll be heading to Vegas at the end of the month staying at the "Red Dragon", I mean Imperial Palace. That's the one in Rush Hour II. It has a two-story waterfall in the swimming pool so I knew the wife would like that. No nudie bars this time which is cool. Those things get expensive anyways. The two of us shoud be able to enjoy our anniversary and time alone from everything. Although I know we'll miss the baby! We can barely stay away for a whole day and now we're gonna try three days and two nights? Good luck. This is a much needed vacation for all of us and we're gonna make the most of it. Hopefully we'll come back with heavier wallets.
So the baby's the best. I couldn't compliment him more than I do. Not much crying but he makes it simple when he does. Either "feed me" or "let's move around the place while you carry me" is the cry. The best thing is that he can go to anyone. You know those kids that cry as soon as you hand them off to someone? Not this one. And he'll dig his head into your chest. (I got some of your aunties you'll probably want to meet son.) And all the expressions on his face make you melt. The best is his "I can stand on my own two feet" open mouth, tongue hanging smile he has. I want him to walk asap. I think babies that do that baby walk is the best. You think they're gonna fall but they balance themselves and are on their way. He'll get there soon enough.

Sorry that it has been almost 3 weeks since I last blogged. But I have a really good excuse....BAPTISM for Git in My Belly!

Well, the event finally came and went this past Saturday. But the preparation for the event has been ongoing and really came to a head the week leading up to this weekend.

Once I finally got all the invitations sent out...all I could do is sit and wait until people RSVP'd. Okay, folks, when people send out invitations, please know that there is a reason for the RSVP... not just so you know my number!!! I still ended up emailing and calling people to find out if they were coming or not. Luckily I just went ahead and expected a lot of more people! Luckily, we didn't run out of food like we did at our wedding!

Well, as for the actual baptism...

BAD = too many babies being baptized at once. I think there were at least 15 -20 babies there. The church had even taken the ceremony out of their regularly scheduled mass and made it its own event on Saturdays.

BAD = parents were not paying attention in the preparation class. We were told over and over again that parents were to undress their child during the homily. That way by the time they went up to the alter for a blessing on their chest and the actual "water pouring thing" they would be ready....

Well...why were we the only ones with our baby naked at the front of the church!! Because parents had to try and undress kids while standing, parents and child were all trippin'.

BAD = we were prepared and ended up at the front of the line for GIMB to be immersed (dipped) in the holy water for his baptismal rite. The priest who was performing the ceremony must have been trippin too because he only poured the water over his head. Even after Brahma Bull insisted on the dipping! He (GIMB) was completely naked, too!

BAD = this mamma got a major headache from the complete chaos in the church and the fact that the priest's assistants were not very helpful! Then try and take pictures with everyone!!! and we ran out of film...and in the rush to get to church on time.. we forgot our extra film.

GOOD = seeing all our family and friends who came to the reception to eat and share this special occasion with our family. One thing... I know that my friends are quite few compared to the total # of guests, but it would have been nice if you weren't so separated from everybody. I know we didn't do such a great job hosting, sorry... but as we continue to have more gatherings hopefully, you will all get to know each other over time!

Congratulations to all the new parents...Atendido's and Tuaua's with your cute bundles of joy who were there...and to the expectant families...del Rosario's, Madayag's, and David's... Looking forward to having them join our play group!!!

The cute part... as we were up on stage thanking everyone, GIMB just stared at his daddy admiringly! That moment just touched my heart! For that one moment we were our own family. I had tears forming in my eyes! Well, as I said the event came and gone with much success --- family and friends were with us for one day! Unfortunately, GIMB was such a hit all by himself that even I had to request to "borrow" him from relatives and especially the grandparents!! Brahma Bull even realized that he never held him during the reception!

Okay, the countdown has begun....6 months before his 1st birthday!! I think I'll start shopping for all the party stuff, now!

Thank you to all you attended...and especially for the great gifts you have showered our son with. To all the Godparents... thank you for your support and love for our family. I know that we made all the right choice with you! For those who weren't picked... I had to save some people for the little one(s) to follow... (NO, not now...maybe in 2-3 years!)

For those of you who know Brahma Bull....email him and tell him to start blogging!!!

Last weekend was parents' night out! In-laws agreed (very happily) to take Git in My Belly over the weekend. So, BB and I went to a friend of friends birthday dinner at Tony Roma's in SF. Sorry, but ribs is not the best thing to eat when you are all dressed up... You can only enjoy it when you have jeans and sweatshirt you can wear over your shirt that will end up with BBQ stains!

Anyways, the party was quite entertaining considering that we really didn't know anyone else. But just one thought... Don't you hate it when guys are prettier than you?! And they aren't even gay! Unfortunately, we couldn't follow them to the club afterwards cuz we were afraid the car would get stolen or broken into, and it wasn't ours!

So, what do you two new parents do who have their apartment to themselves with no baby?...................Go home....and SLEEP!!

The next morning was Easter. I had bought GIMB a new outfit... quite handsome in his Khakie pants, Denim Shirt, tie, and suspenders. Went to mass which was crowded as always. Unfortunately baby got cranky and hot so daddy had to stand the rest of the mass outside! It was quite a lovely sunny day... but we had plans to spend the day in Pacifica with its normal yucky foggy weather. Not the best when you want to be outside having egg hunts and egg tosses!

Plans still continue for the baptism. one word....actually two.......STRESSFUL.........EXPENSIVE! with all the family and friends we are inviting the list just gets bigger and bigger! But then again it wouldn't be a celebration without them either... with us small is out of the question! but it's all good!

My mom and brothers are now visiting for vacation! The moment we saw them, my mom barely said hi to me and just went straight to the baby! With all the excitement, they didn't even realize that they left one of their luggages in the customs check area!!! No, they didn't evacuate the airport or destroy the unclaimed luggage, but it was quite funny thinking about it! Well luggage was found and now safe with us...Joseph now has clean clothes!

I think GIMB realizes that there are a few more people in our place right now... He seems to always be up and playful, and really enjoying his uncles! Uncles don't even mind being woken up in the middle of the night by the baby's cries for a bottle! In fact I ended waking up and find them all playing!
