ON THE ROAD AGAIN
i spent the last 13 hours of my life driving away from my loved one. the drive from seattle to sacramento was not that bad... somehow it made saying goodbye to sunshine a little easier. perhaps it was because i was driving down with her friends. it was kinda like she dropped me off and was gonna pick me up later.

anyways i was at 7am at hair goddess' house in renton. big league (mr. "well, i have a game at 4pm") was there as well. i tried my best 2 give sunshine a warm cali goodbye... but hair goddess' father was watching... uncle knows sunshine's parents... the direct link caused our goodbye to be indirectly scrutinized. or maybe that was just in me and sunshine's heads.

anyway... here's the trip's highlights, broken down by state...

WASHINGTON
-saw a waterslide park... i think it was in tacoma or something. in the rainiest state of the US, i asked myself "why" for a good 2 minutes.
-tacoma, washington looks like someone took downtown sacramento and hella watered it to make it green.
-tacoma has this big dome thing that looks like the infamous boobie theaters in sac (century theaters on ethan way)
-it is okay to advertise "indian fireworks" in seattle. "indian fireworks" are synonymous with "illegal loud ass fireworks" (ie. roman candles, m-80's etc) however it is illegal to advertise m-80's and such.

OREGON
-portland looks like one of those towns in the movies where all the scary shit happens and teenagers get killed by psycopathic killers.
-oregon is ugly. brown like california with more hills and trees
-pumping your own gas in oregon is illegal. that's fine with me. they also wash ur windows for free. california should bring back full service gas stations.
-people stare at filipinos in oregon. *gulp* perhaps they are envious of our lovely bronze skin tone
-at the wendy's in roseburg. i bought lunch for all of us. there were 2 burgers sitting in front of big league. he also had a baked potato, 2 orders of nugget. i thougt to myself "wow, big league must be hungry" later i realized that big league thought the same about me. "wow, agentcb must be hungry" because he thought the hamburgers were mine. turns out they belonged to the couple ahead of us. oh well.
-big-ups to sprint and my data cable for allowing me to hook up to the internet while i was in the car. it's hard 2 chat on AIM and drive at the same time (joke lang)

CALIFORNIA
-mt. shasta is fuckin huge. i thought mt rainier in washington was bigger than shasta. but when i got home, i geeked out and looked up the elevation of both. rainer is only 400ft higher than shasta. holler!
-speakin of shasta, it became evident that all the passengers in the car drank shasta soda while camping.
-the town Yreka is pronounced "why-ree-ka" and not "yoo-ree-ka" (i looked that up at home too)
-redding is fuckin hot
-the sacramento river is long
-saw 5.0 hiding behind an overpass... sneaky bastard. cruise control set at 78. safe and sound
-california is a huge state.

it took us about 12 hours to drive from seattle to sacramento. i think it's an ok drive. i just don't think i can do that on my own. big ups 2 hair goddess and big league for hookin it up with a ride

HALFWAY MARK
today i spent the day cleaning and purging a bunch of old shit from my agency. cleaned the fuck out of that place. we bought a storage unit to enable our boss who can't throw a damn thing away.

i care less, as long as the old desks and fuckin' free outreach shit is out of my eyesight, i'm cool.

cleaning up gave us alot of room to work with in our spot. felt good. like after you vomit kinda good... that feeling where you feel instantly better to get whatever the hell was in your stomach onto the floor/toilet/sink/pavement. the cleanup was definitely like a vomit session.

today i found files from 1998 in my agency. nothing important, just old shit. chuck-chuck-chuck-it like your name is flavor flav.

the best part is that we are using part of the prevention side to make a youth lounge/activity room. that shit is cool. makes me feel almost like stayin in sacramento.

thus begins the current lament. seeing yet another place grow before my eyes and to leave before i get to see the final product. it happened to me last time when i was at uc davis. i put in mad work to help that place get up. felt somewhat unappreciated, now they got their stuff together. i guess it's nothing really bad. i hated working there after a while. fuckin admin shit.

but here, at my current agency, i don't hate it. oh yes i'm frustrated once and a while, but i love what i do here. and yet i am faced with a situation where i must leave again. but this time it's for something more important. albeit, the work i do at this agency is important as well. just not as important to me as sunshine.

i have no qualms about moving. i just wish i could see our youth programs take off like i know they will in a few years. i know i will have to start over in seattle, but man, i like it up there. i just have no job.

i don't like it in sac anymore, but man i love my job. good thing it pays jack shit, it would be harder 2 leave it if i had decent skrill.

i guess it don't help that the job market in sea-town is prrt. they don't know my steez. must re-network and rebuild. perhaps it's time 2 just do music. i dunno what's in store for me career-wise, just gonna go with the flow.

T.R.O.Y.
well instead, it was actually "we reminisce over youth" (development). but that doesn't make for a catchy title. was at ctlemonade and bluefrums house this evening. the new generation of leaders for a certain filipino community group were meeting and i dropped in to do a survey for work. busted out with the presentation and then the survey. it went well.

then the board met and talked about vision. then after everyone left, i gave my 2 cents about what i witnessed in the community this year.

all this is run of the mill average stuff.

what was fun was when we started reminscing about how each of us got involved in the community. we each had our own story about how we became involved working with filipinos here in sacramento. so many years have gone by that the leaders i see before me were kids when i started this shit. that's gangsta.

i told the peeps of my plans to move closer to sunshine in seattle. peeps were cool with it. not like they wouldn't be but yeh, it was interesting to see how they all reacted.

for those of u that saw my site a few days ago, i had fucked this place up good for a sec. things are back in order now.
