ok it's that time of decade again where i try to become anal retentive and file anything and everything in my room. it's been years since i filed anything in my room. shit has been collecting in shoe boxes, and these shoe boxes collect in my closet.
i have receipts from 1999. i got old cancelled checks from 98. class notes from ASA classes from my days at UCD. for those counting, try 1994!!! since my room is only like 11x12 or something like that, i decided that enough was enough. it was time to throw some shit away.
since most of these papers are bank related, i have to shred them. i have a shit load of things to shred. so much i think it'd be easier to just light em all on fire. i hear that's illegal though. damn.
well at least i have my affairs in order now. i even balanced my checkbook. wtf!
ok. tommorrow, i will make "the list" of raw power moves i'm going to be planning out for my business (as yet UNTITLED!!!!!!!) if someone has a cool label name out there, someone drop me a friggin line... i'm hurtin here.

i was reminded of my old cartoon today working with my crew at Hiram Johnson. part of my work includes going to high schools and working on art projects and such. anyway, our crew talked about cartoons which reminded me of when i used to watch voltron.
peace sign goes out to all my hiram johnson peeps who decided to peep out my site. i gave them my addy today... sign the guestbook fools!!!
anyway, i'm busy... talk to ya'll later...
something is very wrong here. i am still busy even though i'm out of school. what the hell is that all about. oh well... anyway, yesterday i went to oakland for an API anti tobacco training on media and advocacy. it was rather helpful. i got to go all the way down to the bay and get paid, always a good thing.
however, i had to come up for pyc sac's xmas caroling practice. they didn't show up. only 2 peeps. that was kinda frustrating cuz i could have stayed the night in vallejo and kick it with mom and dad who are severely missing their children right now.
so yeh, i guess i'll email everyone and let them know what happened.

ok so yeh, it wasn't enough to just get a turntable. i went and done did it again. thank god for the guitar center platinum "no interest til 2003" scam. i signed up for fatty debt for this mic right here. ok so know i owe a pretty penny. but no interest is a good thing and i always pay my ish off in time (in case mom happens to come by here) so yeah...
it will be on and crackin... as soon as i set that baby up...
STUDIO THRILLS
RJAY of BTA fame came thru after the pyc meeting and took me to a studio in downtown sacto. we laid down his vocals for 2 songs. friggin one take wonder!! he only needed to punch in like 2 things!!! incredible. it took me longer to burn the damn cd... we worked on 2 songs in 2 hours. the studio was grungy, but it had dope ass equipment. i heard their mic and i decided i was going to buy a new mic... im tired of recording off of that shure sm 58.

the kings took out the lakers on friday. damn. i missed that game but for good reason, snayk eyz' bday in vallejo. *tangent* i got him that miniseries "V the final battle" on dvd. we were watching that shit til 3am... hella funny. the 80's all up in your face. not a pretty picture, but made for hella memories... *end tanget*
anyway... the kings beat the lakers WITHOUT webber at arco arena.
good shit.

yesterday, i bought a turntable... the stanton STR8-80. and before all the turntablists that read this shit get pissy cuz i didn't get a technics 1200, i'm broke. bottom line. no joke. anyway. the ish was only $249.00 and since i spent a grip on my guitar center platinum credit card, i got a no interest until 2003 deal with it.
i love buying things and people not making money off me.
anyway, the reason why i bought it is to get back into mixing and to prepare for when we do sets as a crew. since i'm the dj i figured it was time to go ahead and get another turn. i was looking at the vestax turn. that shit was tight, but yeh, i don't need to be spending that much right now.
the cool thing about the stanton turn is that it has a digitial output on it. i always fall for that shit. maybe i'll archive some of my vinyl collection on mp3. yeh right... it feels ok when skratching. not as good as the vestax or a 1200, but it'll do for now. when i make more skrill i'll update my entire studio. this was the cheapest addition i could make right now and the most logical choice.
the next things i want to buy are some monitors, then a sound card for my computer (maybe the digi 01 with protools) and then a 24 track mixing board.
damn, i better get a side job...
