The Baby Blog

A blog of the days in the life of Mighty Mom as she goes about raising her sons...and saving the world while she's at it.

Celebrations of Success, Life and Love

I never got to blog or share pictures of the rest of my Dallas trip with Damoomoo to the MK Mothership! However I have decided to blog about the last 3 weeks (at least I think that is how long it has been) which have been a whirlwind of events.

A celebration of Success
That will sum up the rest of Dallas. Women walked across the stage (pageant style) with gowns, the "wave", and stairs lined up with men in tuxes preventing them from falling! and a TON of women receiving their FIRST pink caddy! a stage full of MK Millionaires, and a ton of NEW directors! Damoomoo also got a chance to sport his "We Believe" Warriors shirt as he walked stage with other MK Spouses!

Celebration of Life
Unfortunately over our 10 day vacation we received the sad news of 3 people who have passed.
1. Mother of one our dear friends and fellow performer
2. Harrison lost his battle while waiting for a bone marrow match
3. Dion a childhood friend of Damoomoo who at the young age of 37 died of heart attack.

To this day, Harrison's story still makes me cry. It is sad when he had a whole life to live out and experience. And for any parent, it is always hard to see your child in pain and in the end pass before you.

Although I didn't really know Dion, I know it was hard for damoomoo to have to experience. For me I could not bear the thought of having to raise my family on my own. Damoomoo is our rock and I cannot even begin to imagine our family without him.

A celebration of Love
Ironically the very same morning of Dion's funeral, I was coordinating a wedding. To EJ and Vanessa... Congratulations! Although from my perspective it was a stressful day... you can just feel the love and excitement from the couple. It was a beautiful ceremony and a fun-filled celebration throughout the night!

These celebrations have taught me a couple of things. We really are NEVER to busy to tell our friends and family how much we love and appreciate them. I really need to live each day as if there were no tomorrow.

So to my friends I have not seen... I will be calling or writing you. be ready to receive an invitation for dinner or "play dates", and it will happen!
