The Baby Blog

A blog of the days in the life of Mighty Mom as she goes about raising her sons...and saving the world while she's at it.

Proud Parents...

Monday afternoon, we took AJ to be "tested" as part of the application process for the Fighting Irish. Yes, we have given in... we are looking at enrolling our sons into a private Catholic School. At first I was against it. We moved all the way, far far far away just to be able to afford a nice house in a good school district --- meaning PUBLIC SCHOOL. But with the offer from the in-laws and knowing that this what they wanted us to do, we took a chance and started the paperwork. I figured it was late and there would be no more room. I was wrong... "Sure, just bring the paperwork as soon as possible", and that was when we got invited to bring AJ for an evaluation.

I think I was more nervous. But AJ was the one that insisted on 'dressing up'. He took off his normal sweatpants and t-shirt, and changed into his cords and button up shirt! He looked sharp except he REALLY needs a haircut! As soon as we walked up to the building we were greeted by the Kindergarten teacher who would be conducting the evaluation. She scooted him off to the library and we waited.

30 minutes later, they returned. Of course I immediately asked how it went. "I did good. I was right on all of them!" Were you nervous? "No. Only when I was counting but then I got it." Wow!

This morning I received a call... This is Ms C from the Fighting Irish. We have accepted AJ for the next school year. Please come by to pick up the registration packet.

We are now proud parents of the Fighting Irish... Congratulations AJ!

So I guess that really means we'll have to start going to Church!
