Spring Break
I am one of the few lonely souls at school who still have to work. Apparently while I was still an hourly, the Classified Staff union was able to "win back" part of the salary cutback and in return for that furlough (mandatory day and half off non-paid) the staff gets Spring Break this year AND next year off. But since the union doesn't cover hourly (even though we had the same pay cut and furlough) I still get to work. What makes this week even harder ( besides the fact that there is no food on campus) is that the boys' school is closed too! So here is how we are managing our day care:
Monday: Mama Tess came over to our house early morning to stay with the kids. Mio cried because "I wan' mama tess to 'tay here!", as they left that evening.
Tuesday: Nana's house (meet uncles at V-town to take to double V)
Wednesday: Uncle Patrick and Uncle Joe are at the house to babysit.
Thursday: Nana's house (same as Tuesday)
Friday: Uncle Patrick and Unvle Joe are at the house.
Next year I doubt we will be touring with Likha so I will probably use my vacation time to stay home!
Problem #3 with working Spring Break. Since the campus is still technically open, I have been temporarily taken out of my Public Info position to sit in the "on-line registration" computer lab all day. Which over the last two days has attracted only 2 students, 1 of which was just looking for a computer to send an email!
Because I can only surf the internet for so long, and I am not much of a reader (I tend to fall asleep), I decided to crochet. I tried to make this scarf using the "eyelash yarn", but I couldn't tell where my "knots" were so I gave up... Bought another set of yarn to make a baby's blanket. We'll see how far I can actually get by the end of the week!
