Enjoying the simple things in life
Last night was nothing special, but I still appreciated that time, and wouldn't trade it for the world.
The race home..since we ran out of noodles, and John made all this spaghetti sauce we agreed that whoever made it home first would go to the store to buy them. I won... so I headed to Safeway in Dixon. I got the needed noodles (buy 1 get 1 free!) and my coffee beans! I mixedd the Espresso Roast with Kona Blend.. yum!
The boys were home when I arrived, but it was still a little early to start dinner. So we followed John to the backyard to check on the "weeds". My flowers are totally dying! I am so sad... it hasn't even been a month. I figured that they probably weren't getting enough water from the "drip system" so I grabbed the hose and gave them some H2O. All before the sprinkler went off... and yes, John we do need a lawn mower... at least it's not a huge lot of grass... In fact it would be a waste of money to get a motorized mower for that space since the HOA hires someone to mow the front... (however, we still have that bush of weeds growing!!)
Dinner...a simple spaghetti dinner with the Costco garlic bread. We sat and just joked around. It was then that I looked at my husband and thought to myself... "sorry it took me awhile to see all your greatness, but I am VERY thankful that you still ended up with me!" (and yes, everyone, I have kicked myself in ass a few times by passing him up before!) So, John, I love you! I love how you give so much to me, our boys, our families and friends. Your sense of humor keeps me smiling, and your energy is endless. Your selflessness is unmatchable. We may struggle month to month financially, and just dream of the vacations we want to take, things we want to buy, but I will never exchange I am sharing all this with you!! (because I would like to share the rest of my life with you, you are still not getting that motorcycle!)
Kembot..we were able to catch the tail end of So You Think You Can Dance last night. I had to give Mio a bath since he decided to take off his diaper and pee all over the floor, although he was nice enough to try and stop it... with his hand!!! Beforehand, we were able to get AJ to kembot for us... Our boys are naturals... okay it's not exactly the best but it's so cute watching him shake his booty side to side and wave his hands like he just don't care!!! WE NEED A VIDEO CAMERA!
By the end of the night I was exhausted. so off to sleep I went while the boys went downstairs to "help" daddy clean up.. Sorry, but I really don't know how much help they were! It was a simple night, but one that had all I needed... MY FAMILY.
