and school year begins...
For the Hornets it was a hectic one...Between now and 2007 a significant (1,000) parking spaces will be lost while they build an additional parking structure. It is then I realize that this campus was much like SF State well at least in a sense that a majority of students commute to school (not a pleasant one I might add!)
Anyways, with the beginning of a new school year (thousands of new students not knowing where to go) the cars jam the front the rear entrances to the campus every morning. The lines of cars remind of the crowds of people on weekend at Ikea (follow the flow...you stop, you're given the mean stare!) So to ensure that I have a parking space, don't get stuck in the traffic, and therefore be late to work, I leave an extra 1/2 hour earlier from home... 6:15 AM!!! I sit in my car, put on my make-up, and take my time with extra time to spare...get my coffee, read my email ...blah blah blah!!
With new students come the confusion... where do I go for this, or that... but mainly it's the "I have to stand in that long line again?!" I just look at them and say.. if you read your letter correctly, you would have known!! But that's really to myself, or at least after they walk out the door!
After a whole 8 hours of students and more paperwork, I face the afternoon traffic...
I think I dwell on all these things cuz I feel like I should have been gone already. My stay here at this point was out of courtesy to finish the "peak season" before I left my boss all by herself again! But I am counting the days... I have bought enough coffee to get 3 free drinks before I leave, and after today, have 7 working days left!
Gotta get back to work!
