Farewell!
Thursday was my last day as a Comet! I said my farewells to all my great co-workers, and really nice flowers. I hope they stay alive long enough for me to plant them in "my yard"!!
It was hard, as my co-workers became friends, and a huge encouragement. The biggest boost came from Capt and Commander who told me that me leaving was a big loss, but fully understood why I had to leave. At this time, could not offer me much in terms of money or benefits. However, somewhere down the line he hopes that they can offer me something else, better and bigger, "cuz you are qualified to do much more!" Wow, that felt really nice, especially after going through my "I am not skilled or educated enough for anything in the job market" phase.
AJ even had his own farewell. One of the volunteers had her work donate 6 balls of dough, and his class made cheese pizzas. They made a map of CA to show where AJ is moving, and at the parent meeting his teachers presented me with a scrapbook w/ all his classmates' hand prints, and a photo album showing AJ in all his active play! I have to admit, that made me cry.
Well now, it's time to transition into 2 different chapters in our lives: 1) A new job which begins on April 4th and 2)a new home. We are scheduled to sign our papers on Monday. When I called to set up our utilities, the owners had all of their utilities cut by this weekend! They are ready to leave, too! They sold us their refrigeration, washer/dryer, and left an L-shaped desk in the den! WOW, that saved us the hassle and money.
Yesterday we shopped and found a couch/chez lounge, and a master bedroom set (king-size of course). Now, all we have to buy is the kids bed and storage holder stuff at Ikea. I can't wait!!
