The Baby Blog

A blog of the days in the life of Mighty Mom as she goes about raising her sons...and saving the world while she's at it.

My conversations with God's gift...

My Son!!

I went upstairs a little early last night to put Mio to sleep. Turned off all the lights and popped in the movie, "Miracle". As soon as the first cut from the hockey team tryouts started to play, I hear, "Mommy, 'ere are you?. Mommy?!" and soon enough the door bursts open with my little man walking through the dark.

Whatchya doin? Watching. Mio sweeping?

Yes, he is. I am watching Miracle. Hockey.

Oh, hockey! I lay down with you mommy.

Why don't lay down next to Mio?

No. [then he climbs up on the bed and lay right on top of me] I want to lay down wid mommy.

This lasts for no more than a minute.

Where's daddy? downstairs? [as soon as he asks he is climbing down] I go downstairs, okay?

Okay. Tell daddy I am still Mio to sleep.

Okay. Mio is sweepin. and you watching hockey.

Yes. Be careful, and turn on the light.

He looks, and points to the wall , no not that one, I tell him. I point to the hallway, and he walks to the bedroom across the hallway. I follow and point him to the light switch in hallway. He turns it himself, and says:

Oh... the light in hallway! Okay, I go downstairs to daddy. You lay down wid Mio. You watching hockey? Okay. Goodnight! he walks back up the 4 steps he walked down, and give me a kiss good night.

Good night. I love you AJ

I love you to mommy... and he slowly walks down the stairs and I hear his footsteps leading to the room where he finds daddy...

Daddy, 'ere are you? Daddy!!!

*Okay, so my conversations with my lil man are that deep, but as I went to lay down next to my bunso I remembered all their firsts: steps, rolling over, haircut, crawling, buying their first shoes... And as fun as that was... nothing beats the conversations I have as they grow older...

I can't wait until Mio and I will be able to communicate in the same language!! His audiology appointment is in two weeks.

I'll write later about my first class... interesting... but exciting!
