I reckon I have to have some new year resolutions to live by even if they're silly ones and even if I'm going to be 8 days late or more. It just makes you feel just a little bit more accomplished at the end of the year. Or not.
Here's last year's resolutions:
1) Find new boyfriend: did not do. Failed miserably. But happy that I failed miserably.
2) Save money: pretty good. Reached my target, even though it was small. Gives me more incentive this year to save even more.
3) Read: um... not really. Was on a sprint at the end of the year trying to make sure I got to my quota of 5 works of fiction. Don't think I quite made it unless you count re-reading the Alchemist, and reading Tin Tin comics.
4) Exercise more: other than spurts of trying out basketball and softball (and being hit in the face by them), I don't think kept it up at all. I did join a sailing club but sailing hardly qualifies sometimes. Sitting in the boat, basking in sun waiting for the wind doesn't really count as exercise.
This year, I'm going to keep #2, #3 and #4 as resolutions again. Hopefully #4 gets to a better start by this weekend. I plan on getting a schedule from the local yoga place and running on weekends since I have a more flexible schedule this year. But note the operative word for the day is "plan". I'm going to replace #1 with Learn to Cook. I have 12 months to make something delicious and edible... that's a pretty good deadline. As for finding a boyfriend, I'll say the same thing I say to telemarketers, "not interested, thank you".
