MADE

Have you been able to catch that MTv show called MADE? Well, apparently there's an episode where this football player wants to be 'made' into an opera singer. I totally feel like that guy right now.

I have auditions for the Music program at state, and in order to be accepted into the Music Education program, I need to audition on my instrument of choice, which is voice. That shouldn't be so bad except for the fact that there's only one Music Ed Voice curriculum and it's for Classical voice. Which means I need to audition for the classical voice program. I'm trying to learn how to sing in that style, which is a stretch because I prefer jazz/pop/r&b and singing classical is a big challenge. It's almost a whole mindset and I've been having trouble staying in the mindset for the duration of the song.

I'm freaking out right now. All I actually need to do is sing well enough to be accepted. Music Ed is actually a Bachelor of Music degree [B.M.] but even if I only got accepted into the basic Bachelor of Arts in Music [B.A.] that would be cool too. That way, I'll still be eligible to sign up for music classes that are reserved for music majors ONLY. Then, I could just reaudition for the B.M. Of course, I'd rather not have to do another audition, but if I have to...

So now I feel like I need to get into that pompous/stick up the @ss mindset that I've always associated with classical singing and I HATE IT.

Wish me luck! I'll need it!
