UPDATE FROM NEW YORK
Okay, finally an update! from someone!
I figured something out about California Filipina girls.. (could possibly apply to ALL California girls but I've only tested it on this small population so far).
Lately, I've been meeting an abundance of California pinays who have either recently moved to New York or have just visited New York... Upon meeting these girls, I immediately tell them that I'm originally from the Bay Area and that I'm getting my doctorate here in the city. Of course they're impressed but there's something more that draws them in further.
Most California girls have lived in CA their entire lives and are desperately seeking change. In fact, one of the reasons why these women might even visit (or move) to NY is to spice up their lives a bit... So I immediately begin a conversation about how much I love the Bay Area, but how I hate feeling stagnant over there. 99.9% of the time the girls agree. We begin to talk about how frustrating Pilipinos are in CA and how places like Mission Rock or F&A's aren't cutting it anymore... Then I ask them what they want to do with their lives and they usually tell me their goals... Now, not only have I gained their trust (I'm from their homelands and understand how they're feeling), but now I'm also this new exotic friend from New York... Because of this, THEY are the ones that are calling me, THEY are the ones that want to hang out, THEY are the ones that are buying me drinks... I'm simply playing a combined role of tourguide/psychologist/friend....
And just when the moment is right.... BAM...
I win.
