"If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm dictator."

Strange isn't it, the bad sleeping habits we pick up once we graduate high school? During those days, 1990-1994, I used to wake up at 6 to be at school for zero period Current Life at 7 am. Now, I barely make it to 11 am class. I've been having a bit of sleeplessness lately, and so during these nocturnal behavior times I often listen to KGO 810 AM. What? No Tations, the music guy, listening to talk radio? Yeah. Actually, I despise most of the mainstream stuff, so a lot of the time I'm listening to KNBR.

So what's the point? Well, this was an election week and once again the old, fat, rich whyte peeps have taken advantage of the fact that most of the youth, and more specifically, youth of color, have not taken advantage of their right to express their opinion in the form of voting. Something needs to be done. I remember Voodoo giving a speech in Union City [ages ago!] where she told the high schoolers, "Y'all need to get mad!" One of these people who is angry is Ray Taliaferro, who hosts Late Night with Ray Taliaferro on KGO 810 am from 1-5 am, Monday through Friday. He's like Rush Limbaugh, except he's on our side. In fact every year, on July 4th, Ray reads the Declaration of Independence and then interprets it, which most of the time means pointing out how America's "founding fathers" were hypocrits.

So if you're up, listen. He called for the resignation of Dick Gephardt the night after the GOP took control of congress. Another KGO host, Ronn Owens [who runs a much more middle ground stance] said Ray was unrealistic. What did Gephardt do? Yup, resigned.

Keep warm tonight and don't drive too fast, it's raining out there.

Oh yeah, that quote was given by none other than our president,
George W. Bush.
