I SUCK!!! I know.....it's frickin November..and when was the last time I wrote....JULY!!!! Welp this chica's just kinda taken a vacation from blogging...If you know me...then you know why...Unfortunately, if I don't talk to you on a regular basis, then it's too long to explain. But anyways, just know that i'm doing pretty good, although I am getting over a cold, coughing here and thre..but practically on the road to recovery.

So where has Weekender been? Where the hell did she disappear too???....THE BIG APPLE BABY!!! YES!!! I just came back from New York City, Manhattan that is. I went out there w/ a couple of friends for my brother's birthday... This was my first time in New York, actually the east coast even!!! I'll tell you this...I don't think i'll ever fly RED-EYE ever again w/ a STOP-OVER!!!! Goodness gracious...we left SFO at 10:30pm and arrived in Charlotte at 3 a.m.- 2 hour lay-over then 2 more hours to reach NY...So did i get much sleep...NOT!!!! Got into La Guardia at 10am EST. Since there was 5 of us going into Manhattan w/ MAD LUGGAGE....we decided to take one of those private vans into Manhattan which is a 45 minute drive in... Let me tell you....this van was kinda lavish...We had a DVD playin Scorpion King....and get this...the frickin van smelled good...I think he had one of those hot oil scent things goin on in his pimpin van.... And they weren't kiddin about the drivin in NY...I swear there were some close calls..but thank god i rode in the back and of course the TV chick that I am...You sit me in front of a TV or movie and I zone pretty much everything out... hahahhaha

Anyways...so what did we do out there??? SHOP!!! oh yeah and of course sight see... The first couple of days we went out to SoHo and Chinatown for the shopping. NY is very fashion forward. I was tempted on buying a couple of things, but was advised that they might just be too off the wall for The Bay...oooooooooh well :( Checked out Ground Zero.... that was pretty solemn... Since this was my first time out in NY, I can only imagine how the WTC towered over this city and to see a huge empty lot in its place... So what else did we see? Welp of course we had to see Ms. Liberty,The Met, The Guggenheim Museum, Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building...and let me tell you about that one...it's not as simple as walking into that building and getting into that elevator just the way Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks did in Sleepless in Seattle. I thought I was getting in line for the Indiana Jones Ride... it was a TREK!!! But as soon as we got to the top....it was beautiful....with drizzle. hahahhaha

Talk about TREKS!!! I swear...i've never been such a pedestrian till we got to NY... You walk EVERYWHERE!!! And of course take the subway.. I think I finally got the hang of it the 3rd day we were out there... But it's not as simple as our BART system.. They have so many trains running North-South, East-West that you're constantly transferring. Oh and if you have to transfer...you've gotta walk another journey to the next train sometimes... So make sure if you ever come out this way, you wear some comfortable shoes. I think everyday I was pretty beat and just wanted to rest, instead of goin out. We pretty much layed low and hit up some bars. We hit up this really cool bar our last night. Don't remember what the name was but we saw a cover band playing Prince & The Revolution hits. They even had a member that really resembled Prince, back in the 80's and 90's that is... to bad he barely ever sang lead :( hahhahaha

Oh yeah...we did of course got on one of those double decker tour buses...and it wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't frickin 37 DEGREES w/ frickin COLD ASS WIND BLOWIN in your face!!!! I think the highlight of our ride on that thing was seeing Katie Couric from NBC leaving NBC studios and getting into a taxi cab. Oh yeah...BAD SKIN!!! TV does WONDERS!!!! What a difference....

One night we did eat at Serendipity 3...remember that movie Serendipity with John Cusak??? Anyways..I must say they had pretty good food...healthy portions..but not as bright as it looked in the movie...OH MAN...and I was about to throw a FITT!!! Well of course my roomies for the week didn't think I was, but why did I just happen to call that day just to double-check our reservations for dinner and I wasn't on the BOOKS!!!! I almost dropped DEAD!!!! Anyways...it is a must to have reservations...just cause you may have to wait for A-WHILE if you were just to drop in for dinner...The place is small and quaint and right up the street is Dylan's Candy Store, the idea of Dylan Lauren- daughter of Ralph Lauren. You've defintely gotta hit up this shop. It's not like your typical candy store...

God I think I can talk for days about my trip since we were out there for a WEEK!!! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see everything I wanted..So I may just go back in April...We'll see..But i'll spare you readers ...I think it's time for you to make a trip out to the city that never sleeps...
